This imbalance has been around for a long time. I can say that with confidence since I might be one of the longer tenants in the community.
We used to have chat sessions on the IRC (Internet Realy Chats) on various channels. Any time we set up a sw room for the fans of sw, some sm would come in. the biggest problem we had was as soon as anyone that came into the room with a name that looked feminine, the tiny horndogs would bombard them with PMs and drive off the possible new sw who might be looking for a GT or GTS to play with them or do whatever they wanted to be done to them.
Now it is happening on Discord. But I’m the victim of these PMs. I would get some guy begging me to shrink them and they wouldn’t take no for an answer when I told them I was into shrinking women. They would come up with scenarios where I would find them shrunken with their female counterpart and asked what I would do. I tell them I would take the girl and leave you to nature or toss you to a GTS. I ended up blocking a number of them to now where I barely go on if at all.
There are a number of great artists and writers out there doing sw stuff. You just have to look around here, DeviantArts, and some of the forums (look for shrunken women threads). Patreon has a few there also who are doing great work.
On Amazon, I follow and read work by Amber Collins, Tina Tempest, and Tiny Tina to name a few. If you find one you like, scroll down on the writer’s page or the book’s page and you’ll see other works by them or other people you might like.
As for new artists or writers, I will tell anyone who asks when I’m at Size Con or in private just sit down and put to paper (or screen) your ideas that YOU want to see in a work. Some of us like a little bit of violence others like the gentle stuff. Just put down what you like to see or read. I took up the challenge back in the dial-up days of the Internet when we had very few places to go to find size-changing stuff. I tried my hand at photo manipulation and writing. I stuck to writing when I saw how great others were doing the pictures back then.
Don’t get disappointed by the lack of M/f stuff. Look around in the odd places and keep an eye out for links to some of the good stuff that is out there.

I follow Adam Savage on YouTube with his Tested channel. And I just came across this!
In New York, Brian Henson (Jim Henson’s son) has a shop where they can scan you and make a 3-d small figurine of yourself. I can see a road trip from a Size Con to this place.

Mine goes way back to when the movie Captain Sinbad (1963) played on television in the late '60s. There is a scene where the Princess asks the wizard to turn her into a bird to go out to Sinbad. When she returns, she first turns back to human at bird size but the villain of the movie bursts into the wizard’s area and sees her. He picks her up in his hand and she struggles a bit before bursting into flames and then growing back to normal size.
I thought back then “How cool would it be to hold a tiny person in your hand like that?”
Later, it was seeing Land of the Giants, Jeannie, and a few other TV shows that had tiny people in them, and Attack of the Puppet People. So many things until I grew older and really discovered girls.

Why is it that when I looked at this I thought of when Disney World used to have Star Wars Weekends in May and June and I remembered this part of one of the dance off they did.

@smolchlo I think I would be like I write about and roleplay when it comes to finding a shrunken woman.

I would want to save and protect her. I would hope to be gentle and make her feel better about her new outlook on life now that she is doll size or so. I might have to see how things work out with her personality with the changes she went through and hope I can make her feel good.

I’m going to be getting ready for a cruise the following week for my birthday.

I’ve always thought it would depend on WHO I had as my doll lady.

I’ve known so many over the years that would love to live in a dollhouse, cages, shoeboxes, and such. So I would play off what I think fits that little one.

At first, it was finding out that I wasn’t the only weirdo out there who thought shrinking women was hot. Then taking my dreams and turning them into stories to share with everyone was even better & seeing that people liked them.

But meeting some of you at the last three live Size Cons was so great. It meant a lot to me to see in person how people reacted to my stories and hear about what they liked. I also shared with someone who (I think) was there for their first Size Con how much I loved his art. I think he got the same feelings I did when someone told me that.

During the summer, I wear Crocs. I have various styles and when the soles wear out I turn them into slippers.
During the winter, it is high boots because of the snow and ice.
