It was all very appealing. Never having to worry about student debt, where she was going to live, or if she would be able to afford electricity and food in the same month. But was it worth giving up her freedom? Worth becoming someone’s pet, their plaything? Is one’s personhood really so cheep as three meals a day and a worm place to sleep?
