Canisters fell from outer space and stirred up black clouds that quickly swept the earth. When the dust cleared, the Human race was a bit different. Aliens decided to invade, but they didn’t bring the stereotypical lasers. Rather, it was genetically altering nanites.

There was no need for war since the Humans were reduced to small mouse-like creatures not much bigger than actual mice.

Robin is spending her new life as a huntress out in the fields beyond her farm. Plenty to eat, and plenty of giant rabbits to hunt. But the one thing she was missing was a mate. This would be fixed once she discovered an entire burrow of kangaroo rats living under the old house…

Newly mouseified humans as it turns out, can breed readily with natural mice.

The offspring looks a bit more mousy as a result. Robin’s daughter came not long after she discovered the other mice out in the field. She would end up having so many offspring for them that a new tribe sprung up in the old farm field.
