(yeah, no idea what to title this, lol)
So I was looking around tumblr and I saw this.
Specficlly, this:

And, honestly? This feels like a gentle (if chaotic) GT/sw kind of mood.

GT: ‘Look at this little thing! It’s so smol! Smol and CUTE!’
sw: existential terror and confusion, mixed with futile attempts to escape from hands bigger than her entire body
GT: ‘pspspspspsps’
sw: ???

I’m now envisioning a sort of SW Steve Irwin, who (either as a giant visiting human towns, or a human visiting tiny/fairy towns/colonies/whatever) roams about, finding women, investigating them (look at this purse! Clearly it was made using the skin a vole, a frequent predator of the tiny woman population! Truly a marvel!) (rather politely for a someone abducting them) while being totally delighted, then letting them go.

The stories of this man. The myth. The Legend.

(Honestly, I find both versions hilarious; not!Steve Irwin as this advocate for protecting tiny women and their habitats just works, but I also love the idea of just… this giant. Only one giant. And he just rolls up, does this, explains nothing, and leaves.)

One of my older ideas is a princess and her long-suffering knight. Maybe there’s some romantic tension, but mostly it’s him going, ‘Yes, your highness’ while he follows her around and whatnot, with some teasing on her end.

Portal pops up, knight is all valiant, maybe some kind of bloodline… and the princess and the knight come out the other end, nowhere they’ve ever heard of, or any idea how to figure out where they are compared to where they used to live…

And Sir Knight is now sixty feet tall. And naked, because clothes don’t really fit after massive growth spirts.

The princess promptly starts ordering him around like normal, and when they find native cities, tell him to conquer them in her name. If she can’t have her old empire, she’ll just make a new one! His response?

"Yes, your highness.’

Seriously, don’t stress over updating the site; for us, just having one is a luxury. Get your stuff sorted in your own time and worry about this later.

I’ve always been fond of the ‘paint the SW like she’s a model figure’ dynamic.

(It occurs to me that a bunch of people who don’t consume anime/manga might not know what yandere is… (oops on that last topic with it), so for a brief explanation: a yandere is a deeply possessive person who is ‘in love’ with someone, to the point of obsession, where they will actively do things to ruin their love interests life, isolate them from friends/family, kill off love interest, try to take away their independence by both physical, financial, and psychological means (lots and lots of gas lighting), all in the name of keeping the love interest theirs and only theirs. While the term itself is japanese, the idea clearly applies to stalkers seen in horror movies and crime dramas you’d see anywhere.)

Something I’ve realized is that yandere is a concept that is built of similar dynamics to size content: it’s about obtaining control over another person, by either gaining more power directly or, more often, taking away their power, thus leaving them either dependant on you or unable to resist you in a meaningful way. For obvious reasons, then, this is something that comes up with GTS, and to a lesser extent, GTs. But i’ve been wondering; how would a yandere sw work?

To a certain extent, for a GT/f relationship, the normal sized person is actually going to have some soft power over the bigger one because, no matter what most GTS stories seem to think, turning giant isn’t a magic ‘I Win’ button. Even assuming the military just doesn’t blow their ass up with some missiles if they go on a rampage, either because they’re accepted for some reason, or they have something else to explain why the military can’t pose a reasonable threat… society isn’t made for a giant person, and we are deeply dependant on society for a lot of things.

There’s no clothes, obviously, but there’s also no food, no shelter, no good place to use the bathroom… and while those, also, can be explained by a magical kind of biology… what about TV? Cell phones? A soft bed? All those modern luxuries we’ve all grown to enjoy? There’s a whole world of modern civilization that a giant can’t really access… but a normal person could. That’s something to hold over them, and considering how stuff like email and social media works and how a giant couldn’t even use a keyboard, easily control what they’d learn about.

Beyond that, I’ve been rolling around the idea of a rich normal person patroning a giant, and her wealth being the only reason they have, like, a bed. And good food. And clothes. And that being a sort of de facto tool to keep the giant under their control, because where else are you going to get underwear for the seventy foot man? Not from your old, normal ex, that’s for sure!

But it’s different with SW, because the ‘giant’ here is the normal one; they are the ones with control over the tools of civilization, they are the one with the technological and financial advantages.

I mean, you could jokingly do it with the guy just kind of ignoring their crazy because of how little (ha) he thinks of her, letting her hump his leg or finger whenever she gets in the mood and not really reacting to it, and just kind of flicking them away when they’re annoying, but that seems… a waste of the idea. Unless you make the SW the breadwinner/rich person (which is possible), I think the only way to do it is emotional manipulation. An sw constantly preying on their giant’s emotions; stuff like, ‘I’m afraid, don’t leave me alone!’, or, ‘don’t be so cruel to me’, ‘you can’t abandon me like this’, or maybe even, ‘you did this to me, so you need to take care of me now’, probably mixed with some hard-core seduction.

It’d be entirely dependant, in other words, on the guy putting up with the abusive tendencies, where in any other format there’s an actual danger the woman can pose, or threat they can use, to back up their crazy.

Any thoughts on this, or ideas?

For me, what pleases me the most about this kind of thing is something a lot of others have said: power, pure and simple. It’s something I understood pretty quickly about myself as soon as I started thinking about it.

I’m more on the GT end then the SW end, I’ve found, and it’s for the simple reason that I, personally, want more power, rather than I want to take away other’s power. Even as a child, before any of this really kicked in, I wanted to be a dragon because dragons are a symbol of power: big, strong, unstoppable, inspiring both fear and awe.

On a fundamental level, I’ve found, a SW story is about dehumanizing a woman to some degree, even if those around them are gentle and kind and treat them like people, because they simply can’t do the things considered normal for a person to do. The crueler stories simply take that to the logical extremes: they are lesser, they aren’t human, they’re pets, toys, etc, and therefore they don’t deserve those rights.

A giant story, on the other hand, is about empowering a man to be more than a man. On the logistic end, there can be conflicts with how daily life things aren’t there, or how fragile the world is, but even then that’s a dynamic/metaphor all it’s own, about how they surpass the works of humanity, and thus humanity itself, which is of course something that can be played with as its own concept with giants as rulers or gods.

There’s this odd juxtaposition on the fact that I want the ability to do things to people, including horrible things at times, but at the same time having no real desire to use said things outside of fantasizing, which is probably why my stories tend back to the SW end: it’s easier to be kind when your less likely to do damage to everyone around with your existence. There’s probably something to say about the fact I want that power for the freedom of it, rather than the use of it.

Fantasizing about being cruel has its place, of course. From vore and the brutal primal nature of it, the implicit triumph and taking involved with eating something, to the casual domination of stepping on things, people, places simply because you can, or even out of the lack of desire to even avoid them. To reduce a living thing in merely what you want her to be, to destroy whatever parts of her personality you don’t like until her world is you, and she can’t imagine a life not being your possession.

There’s something especially tantalizing about betrayal, perhaps because I loathe it on a fundamental level: the act of making your victim lower her guard, maybe making her think you’re her friend, maybe making her a promise that you’ll protect her, spare her, help her, if she just does this one thing… only to break that agreement when the time comes. And at that moment, her emotions: the heartbreak, the disbelief, the hurt, the despair, that instant when the hope dies is… intoxicating.

There’s an idea I’ve been thinking with recently: abandonment play. Or maybe flat out abandonment.

A focus that’s not the giant trying to train the SW, but the SW trying to get the giant’s focus at all.

Main example I’m picturing is shrinking a group of cheerleaders and leaving them in a aquarium tank. Just the tank. No food. No water. No furniture. Nothing. Just them and a wide expanse of glass. The thing is, things can be added… if they can attract attention to be given those things. Moreover, everything that’s added disappears at the end of the day.

So, not even to stay comfortable but to survive, they need their captor’s attention, every single day. No matter how little they like it, even if he just plays with them at least they end up with food. Worst yet, the more they do something, the more used to it, and thus less interested, he gets, and the more they have to escalate…

So, I’ve been pondering some story ideas for awhile, but I’ve realized I don’t understand something on a fundamental level, something that’s holding me back from lighter content: ladies, why do you want to be shrunk?

It’s just I need to understand a character’s major motivations to write them well, and I don’t get that. I get it as, like, a means to an end: hot person wants you to shrink (which I get intellectually but only see it in SM content, and don’t get the pull of doing it for a man, though I can get the logic), or it’s to save your life, or your family, or maybe you want to be partake in the never ending orgy of being part of in the lonely and somewhat bored shrunken harem of a giant big enough and with enough other bodies to easily lose track of you in the crowd (which is something I’m exploring in a few different flavors).

I can figure out how a SW might use being an SW, and maybe even enjoy parts of it (a cupcake big enough to sleep on!), but so much of my SW logic process revolves around a fight for control against the reality of the situation: use the Big for protection from the world. Make the Big like you so they don’t abandon you. Make the Big want you so they don’t hurt you. Bully a smaller SW so you feel big for awhile.

All of that tracks. But clearly, there’s an element of pleasure to it, something that makes people go, ‘I’m fine giving up my ability to actively do what I want, and instead give my life and death into the hands and involuntary movements of someone else’, or even just ‘all of that happened to me and it’s actually super hot!’

What am I missing?

What are you thoughts on it? Because I’ve realized that, if I was to have an SW in any form, I’d spend a lot of time, and I mean a lot, just… cuddling. Nothing sexual, just holding them just to hold something soft and warm and because I like holding them, and they like being held as well.

I’m thinking about this because that appeals to me a lot, but it’s not something that seems to come up? There are mentions of it in stories, but more as logical extensions of X action or whatnot, and no one ever really… talks about in discussions, and we talk about everything from size hierarchies to vore here.

Yeah, but just over the normal possible size is just the start of the mini tier. I’ll see people twice the size of a normal person being called a mini-giantess, not just a weirdly tall person compared to a weirdly short one, trouble using normal things often deliberately included.

It’s interesting to me because you can hit a sweet spot of having a lot of giant stuff, being able to break things, unstoppable, but still able to enjoy a lot of modern conveniences without breaking suspension of belief when it comes to clothes and such existing.

I’ll admit, the main reason I thought of it is I’m rolling around an idea in that kind of vein as well (seventh son unwanted noble goes off to explore the world and has to come back when he’s the only child left for a political marriage, but he grows while he’s gone).

But, oof. You had to hit on the big point like that, didn’t you? The sheer lack of M/f content compared to others hurts.

I’ve just realized that there’s not really a lot of mini-giants, like, at all. Either women are shrunk really small, or men end up really big; there’s never any just past human size men, or actually the height of a small child women (for anything that’s not part of a transition to a smaller size, anyways).

And it’s kind of weird when I think about it? I don’t even look for it, but you see tons of it when you gender flip it. I don’t know, it just feels off to me and I don’t know why. I’m kind of wondering if this is part of the ‘women with monster-fucker fetish’ thing, where werewolves or whatever can reach that ‘big but can still fit in a building’ size.

There’s that old game, Haku, I think? The set up is you were getting shrunken women (who came out of fruits) for unexplained reasons, but it turned out you were actually a giant who fought off kaiju and I think they were paying you with the women?

I mean, that’s absolutely a fetish in a general sense. I might even say it’s common, even, considering what I know about female erotic stories and the like. I’ve found an almost certainly female author making stories about women cheerfully getting mind fucked into someone just as powerless to resist their owners as a shrunken women is, and a sort of shared universe literally called ‘Human Domestication Guide’, where the main characters are made into obedient pets by invading, well meaning aliens, so… yeah.

If you’re into it, willing, and consenting, then it’s not ‘unwilling’ in the meaningful, rape-y sense, which is rather the point where that gets awkward, morally. Hell if it’s just a story or a fantasy, then there’s no one real at all to be concerned about, and RPs aren’t real (unless you’re actually shrinking? ) so even if a ‘giant’ ‘steps on you’ you’re not actually getting stepped on by a giant foot, so… what’s the harm?

Honestly, I’ve always found it more concerning the other way around, since then you’re actually doing the wrong thing. The same logic applies there, of course, but I’ve always had problems emotionally accepting the logic about my own desires, so it’s not like I don’t get what you’re talking about.

I mean, giant, in itself, is a gender neutral term, it just means ‘big’. It’d make more sense to pick a male exculsive term… problem is how the english language works. There’s not really a good thing for the niche of ‘neutral’ because ‘giant’ is neutral, and for a male version, what? Hisiant?

I suppose you can just to ‘giant man’, but it feels awkward.

I often see ‘miniguy’ and ‘minigirl’ when searching e-hentai and the like. I feel like those would work well. Honestly, I’ve always used ‘giant’ as a male only term to go with ‘giantess’, but I’ve seen giant used for women occasionally.

I’m not exactly looking for these arguments, for obvious reasons, but when I do see it the logic isn’t, ‘A woman doing this is corrupting someone because her body is EEEEVILLLL’ or whatever, it’s ‘a woman exposing herself like this is degrading herself and/or is doing this for/because of men’.

Like, I don’t doubt there’s people who say that, but it’s just not a tact I’m used to seeing.

For the record, the idea that women’s bodies have to be covered and hidden is stupid, and following through that logic means that men are horny animals with no control and something should be done about that since clearly there’s no self control possible. Which… is also stupid, but strangely enough I’ve never seen that argument come up.

In part because of curiosity, and in part hope to inspire more conversation here… ladies, what do you want in a giant?

Do you want them to be cruel, deliberately so, to tease and torment you? Do you want them to be kind and spoil you, love and cherish you? Or do you want them to be… indifferent to you, maybe even ignorant of your very existence?

Part of me has this brainbug about even imagining myself as a crueler giant, but I’m pretty sure the audience for it exists.

Honestly, I have to guess that a lot of size vore content is just… vore content, taking the most logical approach to eating a person: making them bite sized.

On vore? Because it’s very… primal. It’s predatory behavior, tying in well with how size fetish in general, and it’s a way to dominate someone and dehumanize them in a fundamental level, reducing them into food. When you eat someone, you take them, in their entirety, and you never will be separate again. Also, presumably, they’d taste good, and all that fun stuff involved in actual eating.

Mouth play has a lot of similar appeals, but non-lethal, obviously. It also allows you to combine pleasure and fear.

Insertion isn’t really my thing, but it’s probably similar to normal vore, but just… more of a focus on dicks and the sensation than eating.
