Lesser Known Inconveniences of Being Giant/Tiny

So, how is the bathroom handled? After a certain point you can probably do hamster cage thing, maybe put an area aside, but when they’re bigger? Or if you’re not doing the hamster cage?
Best I’ve ever figured is the defacto built-into-the-seat
child’stiny’s toilet seat I used once, where between the lid and the usual seat is one with a much smaller hole so the little lady doesn’t fall in. That, and ladders. So many ladders. -
@i-am-insane Forget full-size toilet bowls and ladders. Chamber pots usually; fancy setups have tubes and septic tanks. Small water basin that she can handle for washing and rinsing the sewer “pipe.”
-
@i-am-insane Toilets are pretty simple devices in the grand scheme of things, I don’t think it would be that difficult to make a miniature one if you were determined (and hook it up through the regular toilet). You could probably 3D print one hehe
-
I feel it is the difference to treated like a doll vs. a pet.
-
I think the problem is the plumbing, hooking it up and all that.

Says Tiny MacGyver. I’d probably have to hire one of those hardcore dollhouse furniture guys.
-
I’m no plumber, but I have installed a toilet before and was surprised by how doable it is, and we’ve also added a junction to the input line pretty easily. That means the same plumbing could fill a second mini tank, which could be attached to the mini toilet that could sit on top of big toilet tank, and then there could be a tube that links the waste down to the main bowl…
Yeah this is probably more trouble than it’s worth but I feel like there’s a chance that it could work
-
LMAO, I love you guys… I never thought I’d get an in-depth discussion, analysis and even an installation guide on tinies toilets, and other related challenges.
-
@foreverlurk We can’t help thinking about all these contingencies. We’re in this for the long haul.
-
@foreverlurk Chronic overthinker, thaaaaat’s me!

Meanwhile, I’ve also thought about how really small tinies, women so small that the surface tension is a factor, would drink.
Honestly, I’m leaning towards the idea of no really being able to ‘drink’ it, and it being more of getting needed moisture from their food…
Which brings up the fact that, at that size, they probably couldn’t eat a lot of food; too big, too tough. Honestly, outside of artificial things, smoothies, pastes and what not, I’d think they’d be forced to eat only fruit, and only certain fruits, at that: the berries and the like, the really soft ones, or something someone else opened for them. I doubt they could even get through an apple’s skin.

I’ve never felt more known.

Really, I get hung up on little details way too much, it gets in the way of me even trying to write, because then I’m like, “But how does this work???” and focusing on a ‘realistic’ setup for somethign blatently unrealistic.
I am the same way. I dwell too much on the details and fail to make a single cohesive story, and at some point give up on writing anything at all!
I mean, I had fun imagining it, but I want to share content too!

It’s just so easy to spiral on it! I think, ‘Oh, I like this idea, and I want it in the story’, but then it’s like… why is that there? What caused it? How would that work on a biological/societal level? What are the repercussions of this change and it’s like-
I just want to write about a giant hugging a woman shaped robot piloted by his normal sized girlfriend so they can still have physical contact even if it’s really hard for them normally, is that so hard?! I don’t want to wholesale make up a setting-wide backstory to explain it!
-
@SmolChlo For some reason your post reminded me of the character in the Tinkerbell movies whose glasses are giant water drops.

I mean… I do love this idea and would totally read any backstory for it sooo…
