I like the “worse than death” aspect because it’s an eternal thing. It’s not just over, the person will basically be enslaved forever.

That’s also makes it somewhat unattractive in the fetish sense, because it’s so abstract. But at the same time, easier to get across in mainstream media. Everybody gets that “eternal soul enslavement” is bad, but it’s not very gruesome. Compare to real vore. Even animals eating is typically completely absent in mainstream movies. Something like “giant snake” or “dinosaurs” is the closest we’ll get, because it’s just pretty gruesome to watch.
