@blehb honestly reminds me of a old story I read where a guy finds a small portal in his new house that connects to a tiny world free of metal and he places a spoon in it and receives precious gems in return. Basically the tiny tribe on the other end start worshipping the god portal that brings them metal the guy for his part hears the tiny cry’s of joy and decides to just toss all his cutlery into the portal. One of the female tribes men cautions them all about turning there backs on there old gods for this new one so they toss her into the portal. So you have the guy that just emptied his cutlery draw expecting more gems only to have a tiny woman pop out and he’s like ummm wtf and she’s like false idol how dare you try and steal my tribe from our gods.

You start finding little piles of sparkling things left near you and roaches are killed and left out in strange places unbeknownst to your your house has been invaded by tiny tribes women who worship you like a god as they wish to curry favour with the new god they found
