Blood of Zeus S3 (Netflix)
-
Potential minor l spoilers, but I’m avoiding mentioning specific plot points and details.
I’m both a fan of myth retellings and the animation studio behind Netflix animated show, Blood of Zeus. For those unfamiliar, it centres around a young man’s discovering that he’s a demigod, and whose father is none other than Zeus. It’s a whole fantastical romp through Ancient Greece, dealing with the gods’ bullshit and general pettiness.
The show already has some decent size-difference content in S1 and S2. My stomach dropped with excitement the first time I saw the size comparison of the gods against humans - maybe about 9-10ft tall? Some decent interactions between them too. May be of interest to mini-giant fans.
Scenes from S1 and S2 teased the presence of titans, who are mostly imprisoned at this point and referred to in passing. Giant humanoids, otherwise, were primarily monsters. And mentions of “giants” referred to dead creatures or non-literal giants.
Imagine my pleasant surprise, then, when the titans are a significant presence in S3. Not only that, but they are BIG and much more human-like. They may be 90-100ft? Maybe bigger (or smaller) in certain scenes, they vary a bit depending. I’m halfway through right now, and there have been some decent sized scenes, including growth, destruction and one particularly brief but gory bit with a massive hand emerging from the ground and crushing some nearby bystanders. The vast majority of scenes emphasise the strength and destructive power of the titans. Not so much M/f specific interactions, but - hey, you take what you can get.
I can’t provide screenshots right now, but I would recommend giving it a watch. It’s also very beautiful, in classic Powerhouse Studios fashion.
