@foreverlurk Back in the day you couldn’t just self-christen yourself as a Dom. No sub in their right mind would play with you. If you wanted to be a Dom you needed to find a Dom recognized by the community and ask him or her to mentor you. Only when your Mentor decided you were ready would you be awarded your vest and gloves. Your initial standing would be determined by your Mentor’s and would then go up or down from there based on your own actions. This modern approach of just announcing you’re a Dom makes my jaw clench to be honest.
