After so many articles equating macrophilia to “giantess fetish”, it’s nice to see an article that mentions all sexual orientations and genders.

Somewhat related, but has anyone noticed the increase in “switches” recently? I feel like back in the day almost everyone was strictly big or tiny, but nowadays I’ve seen way more people enjoying both sizes. I think that one of the reasons why switches have become more common is that the community has become more open. It used to be that giant men and tiny women were treated with hostility (and they still are, in certain spaces) but now it’s more acceptable for someone to be both giant and tiny.

For giants, I’ve always loved clothing that denotes power or intimidation or elegance, so business suits, armor, leather jackets, etc. In fact, I often imagine entire scenarios built around that type of clothing. So for example, if I’m in the mood for a guy in a suit, I’ll imagine a CEO stumbling across borrowers or somehow growing.

For tiny people, it depends upon the scenario. If they’re naturally small and somehow shunned from human society, I imagine makeshift or doll clothes.

@blehb I usually prefer temporary unawareness and I love the moment when the giant discovers a tiny person. Does he react with concern and compassion? “Oh, there’s a tiny person! Can I help you?” Or does he react with a devilish smile and then snatch them up?

@foreverlurk I just felt my heart break That idea has been on my mind lately, of a man who watches as his girlfriend dwindles away, smaller and smaller, until he is literally her world.

@Olo Even if a story/drawing seems like it’ll be unpopular, it’s still worth sharing it. You never know who will see it and feel less alone.

@Olo The amount of tags on AO3 seems to be both a blessing (because it helps readers to find certain content and avoid other content) and a curse (because there are so many of them). I’m not that great when it comes to tags but I try to tag violence and other content that readers may not want to see.

The site does have some nice features, such as being able to subscribe to authors and stories.

@blehb I’m incredibly flattered that you liked that story! Back when I wrote it, I almost didn’t share it because it gets really dark at times. I’m very happy that you enjoyed it.

@Olo That was a thoughtful and respectful essay covering a topic that often becomes heated in the size community. I’ve always been into the darker side of the fantasy and you touched upon some of the concerns that I’ve experienced, including whether having such fantasies makes someone immoral. Before I discovered the size community, I felt a tremendous amount of guilt for what I liked; even now, I occasionally feel shame about it. Thank you for exploring the topic; while I can’t speak for everyone, it certainly makes me feel less alone and ashamed.

First and foremost, you are a fantastic writer and your descriptions and style are incredibly engaging.

I love how you describe Phillip, both physically and in terms of his personality. I can see him in my mind’s eye, and he sounds like my kind of giant. Caring but also intimidating and the way that you write fear play is top-notch:

His gargantuan leather boots thumped steadily on the slate floor. Each step was like thunder rolling closer as they barreled through the air with no regard for whatever might be underfoot, crumbs and grit crunching as they were trampled into the slate. She swallowed dryly at the sight, at the thought that he wouldn’t even notice if he had accidentally trodden on her.

And I’m glad that you liked “Morsel.” I’ve always had a thing for vampires (and monsters in general) and I just had to combine them with size differences in a story. Giant fangs are just

1. That looks like a giant phone
2. Imagine a giant texting that to all of the normal-sized people in the area just before he shows up

@littlest-lily My dream would be to have a site that hosts all kinds of size fiction so that authors could share their work in the appropriate areas. Realistically, I know that would cost a lot of money and require moderation.
