@foreverlurk I’ve luckily only had sleep paralysis a handful of times, when I was small. I had new age parents who taught me the basics of lucid dreaming as a reaction, and I’ve been pretty good at escaping intense nightmares ever since, including those very intense sleep paralysis ones.
I wish dreams really were magical - because I would completely kick ass in a “Nightmare on Elm Street - Dream Warriors” scenario.

    • RE: Union Busting

@sloppy_amy “Robert Durmoch” is based somewhat on the IRL guy Rupert Murdoch. Robert is a little younger, more charismatic, chubbier, and more American, but what they have in common is their name and their impact on the industry.

(Political opinions coming up, I will not debate this topic with anyone if you disagree with the following statements, If you are irritated by left wing stuff, scroll past this.)

Rupert Murdoch is a (now much older) Australian billionaire in charge of NewsCorp. They own Fox News and many other media outlets around the world including Wall Street Journal and some influential British newspapers. He doesn’t just own news organizations to make money, which is the normal thing in the industry. He’s unique because he also uses his news orgs as mouthpieces to spread his right wing views.
He has been personally responsible for what used to be thought of as extreme, fringe right-wing views being pushed into the mainstream, such as conspiracy theories about COVID, masking, vaccines, and BLM, and, earlier, Obama’s birth certificate. He’s also largely responsible for the increasing mistrust in the news media, since his news sources are more concerned with expressing right wing opinions, and entertaining sensationalism, than in anything like media ethics or factual accuracy.
He actually is responsible for memos that go out to Fox News and his thousands of affiliate stations telling them to approach news stories with specific opinionated talking points. His stations have been sued for lying on the news, and their excuse back in court was that nobody should expect his station “Fox News” to be reporting news, everyone knows that they are just entertainment.
He’s personally eroded journalism in a way that it can probably not recover from until the end of the current informational dark ages.

“Just make the portfolio grow enough, then I’ll reverse the shrinking, and let you go.”
      “How much, Master?”
      “Until I’m satisfied.”
“But, remember econ 101- the consumer is never satisfied, that’s how demand-”
“Until I’m satisfied, pet. Now get back to work. And no more lectures.”
      “You wanted my expertise!”
“Use it, don’t talk about it.”
“…okay. I’m sorry, I forgot my place again.”
“Let me repeat, more at a pet’s level: line go up, good, pet go free.”
      “…yes, Master.”

    • RE: Is role playing a form of cheating?

      I don’t think that ethically, it’s cheating.

In a practical sense though, I feel like it could be corrosive to the relationship, if you’re not careful about it. This is one of the many reasons I don’t roleplay. If there is time I could be spending with my monogamous husband, I’d rather be spending it with him than in a RP session with someone. RP can be a huge time suck compared to other ways of engaging like forums, browsing SizeTwitter, stories, and even Discord.

If there was something keeping my husband and I apart, like if we worked opposite hours or lived far away from each other. The practical problems of the time suck would go away, and RP might cause way fewer problems for a monogamous relationship.

I love the depth of their thoughts that you’re giving us. I love the intense observation skill that she has. I’ve always considered the physical details that a shrunken person would notice about a giant, but I hadn’t really put it together before that being shrunk would also result in reading micro-expressions, and therefore emotions, more capably. I look forward to reading more of this slow burn.

(I love this so much. I absolutely adored the mild offense she had for the term “crush”. That made me laugh out loud.

    • RE: People you'd love to shrink in your lives!

      @bigmandan1717
If I was ensured that it’s temporary, I’d shrink myself.
Now, who would I do this in front of? Who would I trust with myself being that vulnerable? That’s the question.
I love my husband, and he’s generous in playing out some scenarios with me. But he also worries too much about my safety - I think he’d be unwilling to touch me at all.
One of my friends who I’ve known for a long time. There’s one guy in particular. We’ve always been platonic, but I’d trust him with my life, and he’s way kinkier than my vanilla spouse. I think he’d be the right play partner for this. He’s a long-time friend, he gets the BDSM appeal of being pinned down under a finger or a cock, and he’s also has studied medicine enough to know how to not actually destroy me.

My fantasies go way more dangerous than this gentle scenario. But I’m going with a realistic answer here, for the heck of it.

I’d never want to shrink another person. I’m just not sadistic. (I have some strong political opinions of people who deserve to live in hamster cages for life, but, that’s the exception to the rule.)

I do write stories with evil giants in them, but that character type isn’t my self-insert.

I’d be thrilled to meet someone who was already small. I’d find it hard to ask a tiny for anything because the tiny would probably just say yes out of fear, and that just makes me feel gross. I’d try to attract them to spend more time around me by being a provider.

I’d be the creep staring at the tiny from across the room, not wanting to lose sight of them, but hoping that they’d ask me to get closer. Pining! That’s the word. It’s a role I’m great at.
