      I’ve been mulling over a particular theme (trope?) of gods who are super unfamiliar with the customs of mortals who worship them. In this case, more than one piece of fabric to cover one’s body seems excessive to the divine. Or maybe just a convenient excuse to take a peek at what mortals have to hide - not that a god needs an excuse.

          It’s not really about other people seeing her; it’s already embarassing having one set of (very large) eyes looking at you, especially if they belong to someone you revere. Also facing something that contradicts how you’ve been socialised, etc etc.
