@foreverlurk When looking at miniatures I thought it would be really cool to paint them to resemble some of the 40k content from the 80s. Give it a bit of a comic book style and you could have a really unique looking army. I’m sure plenty of people have already done this though!

Even outside of size content, I find the themes and symbolism of puppets very interesting and appealing. They’re very relatable in some ways!

@foreverlurk I’m a 40k noob. I have some friends super into it and I love hanging out and watching them play. I considered getting my own army, but I already have so many other projects I’m doing- I don’t need to invest time and money into something else. Maybe in the future though! I still love looking at paintings and I learned quite a bit about the lore while researching the armies.

Looked into the Phicen figurines and found people making mini-me versions of themselves. It’s extremely impressive and I’m sort of tempted to try it??? Maybe we need a DD arts and crafts day.

And there I go again trying to get into ANOTHER hobby…

I enjoy content with both. I definitely lean towards being shrunk rather than a man growing though. I love the intimacy of it - like I’m some sort of secret or possession of theirs.

In regards to how these relationships are tagged, I usually just refer to the bigger person as the giant and the smaller person as the tiny, no matter which one is normal sized. Obviously this changes depending on what content I’m responding to, but if I’m speaking in a general sense then that’s how I use the terms.

@littlest-lily I love new hobbies - sharing them with someone else is just so special though! Even if they’re not interested themselves, the fact that they appreciate what you love is the best feeling in the world.

@foreverlurk Oh duh. Literally everything you said describes a figurine over the typical miniatures. My favorite thing about 40k is seeing peoples paintings so my mind immediately goes there.

I don’t have any myself, but I think the quality on some figurines is so amazing! And I would love to get into painting miniatures as well, but that’s another craft I don’t need to distract myself with. What other figurines do you have if you don’t mind sharing?

I have an appreciation for the nuns with guns. Like I said, I would consider choosing them, but to be embarrassingly honest, they’re a little too dominatrix for me to play and I would feel shy about it LOL. I am too much of a sub for them.

@blehb Armour can be fun to take off from tinies, in a weird sensual way. It’s hard to explain but removing soft clothes is one thing, but removing heavy ceramite armor pieces? A bit of effort to get to my prize

@foreverlurk Oh yes, tinies ready for battle are a ton of fun. Maybe the giant is amused by their attempts to fight, or is genuinely surprised by their abilities. I love the makeshift borrower-style armor myself.

Adepta Sororitas is such a beautiful army. I would be tempted to pick them solely because of their miniatures. Did you paint her at all?

@SmolChlo Also what’s in that little tub? If it’s water you could just skip the pee. They make these things way too easy!

@miss-lillipants Armor is sooo cool. You could do medieval fantasy armor, maybe futuristic mech-inspired armor, there’s so many possibilities!

I love the idea of having a bunch of tinies care for it too. It’s so extreme- like the giant is wearing an entire building.

@foreverlurk Luckily, in defense of the article, the experts and personal experiences state it could be from more serious childhood experiences, OR something as innocent as a TV show. Which I think is reasonable. They’re not trying to do a whole Freud-style psychoanalysis on everyone.

I do agree though, as a child there was no single piece of media that “triggered” this in me. I was naturally drawn to it from the start.

@Nyx A lot of forums get divided based on gender or sexuality, but it seems like Reddit tends to have more spaces where everyone interacts with each other. It might make people feel more comfortable about their preferences. I’m pretty new to that community though, so maybe I’m wrong.

This is a pretty good article, especially being written by someone uninvolved in the community! I seem to recall someone looking for feedback on Reddit, but I don’t remember the exact post.

Somewhat related, but has anyone noticed the increase in “switches” recently? I feel like back in the day almost everyone was strictly big or tiny, but nowadays I’ve seen way more people enjoying both sizes. I think it’s awesome personally- it definitely gives fresh perspectives as far as content goes.
