Great find, I’ll have a closer look later, but this here is interesting data :

Joyal and Carpentier (2016) surveyed the prevalence of paraphilic interests and behaviours in the general population within the province of Quebec. In their sample of 1,040 adult men and women, 46% reported a desire to engage in, and 34% indicated having engaged in, at least one paraphilic behaviour and having been sexually aroused by it

Well, that’s a much higher percentage than I would have thought! There’s still hope I’m not the only size freak around here…

The empirical evidence all points towards this : any scenes with a man interacting with a woman, especially when dealing with what the AI considers bad (violence, power imbalance, etc) has a higher chance of being blocked. I never experience much blocking with F/f, but I never even tried M/m, or F/m, so I can’t say.

Very sad, indeed! It’s not just “other people”, it’s the culture I grew up in, the era I was born (80s), the pre-internet void around kinks… Ideas you learn during childhood are the hardest to deconstruct. I’d say most of my guilt is self-imposed, reinforced by those factors, and the occasional comments I’ve read.

Although I feel much better about it now, it’s still a work in progress.

@miss-lillipants Thanks for sharing that article. Sadly, I’ve yet to see some in-depth research done specifically for size kinks (we don’t talk about Dr. Helen Friedman).

I agree there’s no be-all / end-all explanation to their origin, I’m not trying to find a universal truth. I’d just like to understand myself better.

Very interesting take, and that’s why I conflated “care” and “control” under the same umbrella. Even IRL some people end up controlling other people’s lives under the pretense of caring for them, sometimes in spite of their good intentions.

Such an interesting subject! I’ve recently had a discussion on the origins of our kink with a woman telling me almost the same thing verbatim - a way to deal with fears and trauma. There seems to be a good degree of correlation with anxiety overall.

Don’t know about other microphiles, I’ve mentioned before that one place it could stem from is extreme shyness. Social phobia wasn’t taken as seriously back then, especially in children (“oh it’s just a phase, it’ll pass”). I guess the thought of shrinking others, making myself bigger in some situations, might have been an internal coping mecanism?

The desire to protect (or control ) is harder to pinpoint - I always loved taking care of smaller animals, or looking after my younger siblings. Beyond that, I think I felt like I lacked control in my life - so having control over another smaller person could have been projection on my part.

Rendering someone helpless and harmless (ie. shrinking) meant I could approach her in spite of said shyness, annnd also act as caretaker. Don’t know if this makes any sense? How all this also became a kink, I’m at a complete loss to explain beyond “hurr durr, me wants tiny woman”

Also true for my own work, I’ve noticed! Some I’ve spent hours tweaking manually are barely noticed, while others I just threw out there haphazardly got all the praise.

Such an amazing picture, I wasn’t sure at first if it was a 3D render or AI, but turns out it’s 100% photo manipulation/collage.

Well it depends on a lot of factors. Everyone has different personalities, upbringings (social status, religion), live in different places where this can be more or less accepted, even different generations don’t have the same issues towards kinks in general.

What I mean is I’m really glad for you if you never experienced guilt, but not everyone had that chance. I’m mostly okay with it now but wasn’t always the case.

I’m pretty sure we’ll jailbreak Google’s AI like we did with OpenAI. Then it’s the usual cat and mouse game between better filtering vs better bypass. It’s a shame because the image quality of their gens is pretty good.
