RE: Lesser Known Inconveniences of Being Giant/Tiny
I’m no plumber, but I have installed a toilet before and was surprised by how doable it is, and we’ve also added a junction to the input line pretty easily. That means the same plumbing could fill a second mini tank, which could be attached to the mini toilet that could sit on top of big toilet tank, and then there could be a tube that links the waste down to the main bowl…
Yeah this is probably more trouble than it’s worth but I feel like there’s a chance that it could work

RE: Salt & Pepper
@giantmaneddie Thank you! Yes, I think I might go back to weekly and just change up my schedule from time to time, but at the moment my backlog is running low, and I’d also like to focus a bit more on other projects (plus make some of the comics a little longer/better too~)

@i-am-insane Surface tension of water is easily breakable though, it gathers water together but doesn’t affect the flow. Like lookit this ant goooo! https://youtube.com/shorts/wNJSQwYp2y0?si=Q-m69FgO7TuwPZSv
But I agree that food feels like it would be more of a challenge. I started working on a micro story and tried to brainstorm some food options at the time. Things like chicken broth and pudding and applesauce yuuunmmm

RE: Lesser Known Inconveniences of Being Giant/Tiny
Yeah, according to gravity falling three feet is falling three feet, no matter how big or small you are. So tinies should actually be okay with proportionally big falls (but since their biology would have to be different on some level, I know I certainly take liberties with this - I like the danger aspect from the perceived greater heights).
And as far as I understand it, surface tension is super fragile, a person should be able to literally stick their head in if they wanted. If the drop of water were bigger than they are, there is some risk in them getting trapped in there I suppose, but even then the simple fact that they go in would break the surface tension enough that it might just crumble.
Dontcha love all the science talk over something that’s not scientifically possible hahaha. I’ve had so many conversations with my partner over this stuff since he’s more the science expert than I am - it’s fun! (But has also led to him telling me that he wouldn’t be worried if I was small and fell off a table. Rude. lol)

RE: He's a mean one
@tiny-ivy YES I absolutely was into Horton Hears a Who as a kid. One of those formative moments for my love of micro.
I think in the Jim Carrey version of the Grinch the movie implies that the whole thing takes place on a snowflake

RE: Go-to sizey daydream?
@maladaptivetiny Since the Quest 3 came out, the Quest 2 is now relatively affordable… Just saying hehehe

RE: Brainstorming Thread
Something that helps me at times with this kinda of idea generating is to come up with a theme. So basing kaijus off of, say, the seven deadly sins. Or the circles of hell, or the stages of grief. There are so many options - the elements, the seasons, Western astrology zodiac, Chinese animal zodiac, colors of the rainbow, um… stages in the water cycle? Musical instruments? Breakfast cereals?? You get the picture. The theme could tie into the main plot and serve as some cool subtext for the themes of the story, or it can be just be an Easter egg, or the designs don’t even have to be recognizable to the theme at all but might just be a fun creative challenge for you to get some ideas flowing.

RE: Disaster and confrontation
@SmolChlo welp, don’t mind me, it seems I’ve melted into a puddle at the thought of this

RE: Disaster and confrontation
@Olo I can totally see that. Meanwhile, during an actual panic attack I (sometimes) seriously benefit from being held by someone I deeply trust. Similar to how some people are comfort by weighted blankets, I guess, or babies when they’re being swaddled. A massive, caring, protective presence is my kind of therapy.

RE: Language barrier
@foreverlurk That’s a great idea! I’m not sure how well I’d be able to tackle it since I’m not as familiar with the culture barriers in Canada.
…Now if only I knew someone who did 🤭 hehe
