Toshi could hear their thunderous footsteps. They saw her, they were coming for her, she would not escape this time! All Toshi could hope for was that the big people would be friendly.

She has a good home now. No more dodging cats or cowering under leaves from Crows and other hunting birds. Food is never a worry. Her water isn’t from puddles she happens upon.
As for treatment, her new caretaker isn’t always gentle. But he is never harmful. And really, his rough attentions makes her feel so satisficing excused. And usually, soft strokes as she cuddles to the giant comes afterward.
