Pacific Rim, but with actual giants

Hear me out. pacific rim, but instead of humans controling giant mechs, its giant genetically altered humans wearing armored suits. I’d imagine there will be many people who would want to be them and be WITH them wink wink. And there’ll be a push against them by anti-jaegerists (if i were one of the jaegers i’d prolly take a bunch of these guys with me and show them What a REAL man looks like. If you know what i mean).
I’d feel bad for jaegers who suffers from PTSD caused by the war. They must feel so alone not being able to seek help from anyone
But How does a world like this work? Where would retired jaegers live? And what are their relationships to normal humans be like?

I honestly can’t remember if I have written something like that, although it’s one of my favorite fantasies. I spent almost all of Pacific Rim imagining giants in armor fighting kaiju.

I know that… @Kisupure did something like that with the Evangelion mechs, years ago. I’m not sure if it ever got posted here, but I remember reading it.
