The dominant tiny/submissive giant trope
-
I think the dominant tiny has a lot of potential. This is an excerpt from a piece that I have in the works.
“So, you enjoyed that? Playing with me that way. You had your fun?” she said, almost scornfully as she rose to take a defiant stance before him once more. “I did” he replied with a quiet confidence, “And I think you did too.”
“I was curious to see how you treat her” she answered, “I think it will help me get inside her head a little bit. But now… now it’s my turn. Take off your shirt, Usher.”
“Oh, so it’s ‘Usher’ now?” he smiled. “It’s whatever the fuck I say” she replied coolly, slowly sauntering across the table to the small pile of silk ribbons that he had recently used to restrain Melody. She collected several of the ribbons; draping them behind her neck and over her shoulders as she watched the sinewy, young man strip off his shirt.
“Hmmmm… not too bad” she smiled, as she appraised his lean, well-muscled form. “Now, take off your pants. No, leave the underwear on” she added, stepping closer to the edge of the table so that she could see all of him. “That’s very good. Hmmm… it looks like you’re hiding something down there” she giggled, nodding at the obvious bulge in the front of his boxers. “Now, I want you to lay down on the floor, on your back. Then grab the legs of the table, one in each hand and don’t let go.”
Silently, Usher followed Eydie’s instructions, curious to see just where and how far she intended to take this. Back on the table, Eydie watched as he stretched out on the floor and wrapped his fingers around the table legs, as instructed. Moving quickly and gracefully, Eydie jumped to the seat of a chair before expertly swarming down the floor.
Usher’s expression betrayed his admiration as she strode across the thick, plush carpet to stand beside his chest. “Don’t look so surprised, big guy. You’ve lived with a mini in the house for a while now. You know it usually only takes a couple weeks before we get very good at climbing everywhere” she said, as she surveyed his prostrate form. Slipping a ribbon from her neck, she walked to where his left hand gripped the table leg and stepped over his wrist.

This is part of why I like the idea of Fairies/Pixies and etc. They have some magic powers that helps even them out power wise compared to a giant (mundane or also magical). Very easy to see the dynamic at play with say, Feo Ul or the other Pixies in FFXIV and the player. Mormolia in Heroine Anthem Zero, too.
Of course, sometimes the giant is just going along with the tiny’s whims because they’re simple enough to comply with or the giant has an attitude of “Eh why not, I’m bored” or the tiny is just helping them live a more idyllic life. Something more like Arrietty/The Borrowers there but those tinies didn’t exactly have dominant attitudes…
In the horror angle, there’s “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark” and those are violently dominant tinies.

I tend to write more male power fantasy in my erotic stories. But I have had less experienced Giants have caught/found tiny women that were more knowledge about and aware of their appeal to their capture. So they used their sensual skills to manipulate the giant.
“Oh what’s that?” Kelly asked looking up at the catalog of tiny cage accessories.
“Oh that. A mini hot tub.” Gilbert replied getting ready to turn the page.
Oh what a great thing for relaxing her muscles after a long day of serving this giant dork. “Can you by that for me?” She asked in her best pouty girl voice.
Gilbert turned the page mumbling, “Oh I don’t think so.” Meaning he didn’t see how he would enjoy it.
But Kelly did, and if she was going to have to live as his pampered pet she would get what she wanted. And she knew exactly how to do that. “Gilbert,” she cooed in the way she knew would make him look towards her. Kelly arched her body in a way that would draw his eyes. And in this outfit he bought her that was easy to do.
And that work, “Ya, yes Kelly?”
Rolling into a more standing position that displayed her assists Kelly explained to his likely distracted mind, “If you buy me that I would be an ever so happy tiny.”
“Every so happy?” He repeated.
She had to fight back a smile, he was so easily trained. Purring like he liked, “Ev-er so happy.”
He grabbed his tablet, “Yeah, OK. I’ll have it over nighted for you.”
Kelly knew she likely would have to work that off later, but a hot tub of her own to relax in when let home alone. She deserved that. Then she saw another toy for her cage. If she was running a tab already, might as well make it worth the payment. Cooing again, “Gilbert?”

Some other ideas: the lab experiment. Giant is being held by military or secret lab, and is trapped by their captors, lead scientist or whatever is a woman. She controls so much of his life he controls him, even if she’s achingly careful about how dangerous he is.
Relatedly, a setting where a giant is, defacto, treated as a sub-human, and has a boss or supervisor in charge of him. There’s little no no actual controls over him, but he has to obey anyways because she’s in charge.
And, something expanded from one of my earlier ideas, a relationship built off a previous relationship a couple had before they grew/shrunk, where the man is more passive and the woman more dominating or controlling. And she shrunk, or he grew (or both), perhaps slowly over time, and they just… kept to that dynamic. Maybe she needs to placed on the table, but she’s the one with the finances on lock and a better picture on what needs to be done, and the fact she needs to keep directing him so much helps cement a sense of ‘being in charge’ in place.
Maybe he can casually lift a car, but she has to be the one do so much of the normal stuff because he’s too big to, so he’s having to sit and wait somewhere (where he can’t break anything important) while she does all the important adult things, goes out into the town or whatever, and basiclly just had a life with friends and stuff, which leads them both to get a sense that he’s useless or too destructive, and just gives him the sort of dynamic of a big, dangerous pet rather than a human being.

Because this is stuck in my brain (and because a more complicated dynamic is something my mind craves in stories and so hyper-focuses on for ideas, which means I’ve thought about this a lot), let me point out a more mild example than most presented: the hyper competent assistant.
It’s something you see all the time in normal media, where the (usually male) executive is really, really good at something, but is correspondingly bad at everything else. He’s a genius at building, or investing, or whatnot… but that genius that flung him into leadership didn’t equip him to actually lead, at least in the day to day minutia of a company.
And that’s where the assistant comes in: usually female, she is good at what she does, and from the chaos her boss creates, she imposes order. She gets everyone payed, she sets the scheduled, she communicates with… at times, literally everyone.
(The ur-example of this being Tony Stark and Pepper Potts’s dynamic, for the record)
All of this is to say, while this topic was originally about size/power not not meaning your in charge, this post about how being in charge doesn’t mean you’re in charge. Because, sure, The Big Boss may direct the whole organization, and be the only reason it’s around, but the assistant is the one actually runs it. Depending on the boss, she may be the one arranging his schedule, setting up his meetings, determining what papers or proposals he looks at or does not, and in doing so is controlling what he does and how he acts.
And this isn’t just a modern, ‘leader of a company’ thing. Let’s say a knight is promoted to a lord for some great deed, for example, killing a dragon (which could help bring size back into this scenario, since I drifted away for awhile). Well… he’s a knight. He knows how to fight, to kill; the fuck does he know about how to run a territory? Problem is, ignorant or not, he is in charge of it now, and all the people who live there, and if anything goes wrong it will be his fault.
Cue the assistant: a competent maid, a low ranking noble trained for management, or a fallen high ranking noble, perhaps someone who was meant to rule the very land he now ‘runs’. She knows how to do things, what needs to happen; she knows the people, and they know her. The knight? He’s a big guy who can kill a really big lizard. Scary, and they respect his ability to fight things, sure, but not him a leader. And so he’s forced to turn to her for guidance, and through that, she gains control… with suggestions at first. But over time? Her suggestions could easily become commands:
‘You do it like this’, and, ‘May I suggest you wear this’ becomes ‘Do this’, and ‘Wear this’, and a dynamic where she constantly belittles him for being helpless (or, ‘helpless’, depending), and how he should just leave everything to her; she’ll take care of it. Just listen to her, trust her, and everything will turn out fine.
