My two cents : I still believe there is value to making it yourself. It’s like saying, ‘why bother painting this landscape on canvas if I can wipe out my cell and take a picture’? That was the fear behind the invention of photography last century, and digital photography more recently (which I’m old enough to remember causing heated debates with ‘true’ photographers).

My take will always be that the act of creating the art, the actual process - brush strokes, words written, clay sculpted - are as important as the end result itself. Art and artist can’t be dissociated - the fact that a human mind and/or body was behind it has intrinsic value. What another person is using as a medium is irrelevant.

I do have a problem with selling synthographies, as it was trained on copyrighted materials for which the original artists weren’t compensated. But if we focus solely on size content such as what is posted above, honestly, it’s incredibly niche - a drop in the ocean of what generative AI is used for, and a harmless one at that. I mean, sure for us it matters, because we’re macro-/micro- philes. My real concerns are abuse of generative AI for media manipulation and fake news.

Disclaimer: Echodeck is a cool dude and isn’t selling his art, or hiding the fact that he’s using AI. Someone shared his work here without specifying (or knowing) that it was the case. So please don’t lash out on him.

I think the nature of the fantasy itself, of wanting to dominate/shrink/reduce really makes it harder to paint ourselves (biggos) in a positive light. I can rarely see myself as anything else than the “bad guy” in my fantasies, or maybe the hypocrite savior at best.

I’m still not sure what I’ll need to feel better (an actual 3" tall lady would def help!), but gaining a better understanding of myself is the first step.

@maladaptivetiny That’s the dream! We’re going to need a bit more than just VR but also full suits and gloves.

But it’s still pretty incredible to see in VR what I’ve imagined millions of times in my head, even if it’s just a small preview of things to come.

@Olo Love it! Maybe you should add an indication in the title that AI was used to enhance the image? It’s a very good base 3D Render that was post-processed using AI “inpainting”. EpicIllusionist is the master of this technique, I’m actually delving into it for other projects of mine, using Blender or other 3D software as a base then pushing the realism with inpainting.

Regardless, thanks for sharing his groundbreaking work.

You know… I’ve been married and trust me you can be years in a relationship and still feel alone.

You mention pets, I think my cat is a great help to my mental health. I got her when she was so tiny, she could fit into the palm of my hand. You can say I always loved cute, small things.

@blehb You’re not alone, I’m fascinated with human nature and thus I’ve also been trying to see normies reaction to size media. I can’t find it right now but I saw a good reactions videos to HISTK on yt, and of course a few good ones to the recent Gen V scene.

Oh and I’m in the same boat about wanting to tell a partner eventually (gulp!), so I totally understand the concern.

@Olo Wow this is an incredible artist you found there, Olo. My favourite art movements are without a doubt Romanticism and Impressionism, and he’s clearly influenced by those. Loved your thoughts on the fem/male/gaze. I think you nailed something important to me - agency in the face of a grim situation. I love it when a SW in a story uses everything to escape her fate, and doesn’t give up even if she ultimately fails. No fun in her being this passive victim, which can be found even in a lot of classic SW stories.

Yes, this… all the while keeping his urges in check, pushing his willpower near the breaking point. That’s my trope lol. Personally I like character descriptions to remain vague, as they allow me to project more easily into the story - if the giant is a handsome, strong and tall 20-something, it makes it harder for my early midlife self to insert.

“Haha, this shrinking thing was a blast! What a fun idea! Now, let’s eat some of those cakes so we can grow back to our regular size”

There is something that touches my soul when the shrinking was voluntary and turned out a fun little experience, mainly because in the back of their minds the possibility of growing back was never an issue. When it turns out going back to normal is no longer an option, that moment of realization is pure bliss to me.

@littlest-lily Soo many good ideas. I might have done every one on the “wholesome” list in one way or another, with the added difficulty of her being unaware of the real reasons behind my sizey gestures, comments, or interests. I can only dream of indulging in the less innocent list one day (Step 1 is to get myself a partner lol)

@Giant-Gripper I have to say I’m incredibly jealous. Such a nice thing for her to do, I don’t know if your partner enjoys the kink too, but regardless it’s so very sweet of her to indulge you like this. She has probably no idea how such a simple, silly thing can work its way into our giant’s brains. I would be so

When I’m with someone smol (to me, so 5’2 and under) I can’t resist doing that lol. Lift/grab then squeeze, hearing the air leaving her (and the cute protests afterwards). “Stop it, put me down!”, then me proceeding to leave her on top of the fridge. Simple pleasures, yeah.

@Olo I know - one thing that helps me keeping a connection with the young folks is having someone at home who’s clos(er) to that generation and doesn’t mind explaining his old man what’s what these days.

I also like to generate AI renders with 35-40 year olds sometimes, without them looking like supermodels or pretty boys. Strangely it’s harder to get the AI to generate just plain normal looking moms or dads lol.

What I love about shrinking out of clothes - far beyond the obvious nudity - is the instant feedback on their tininess. “Look at the size of your panties compared to you now”.
