Have you ever bought books, novels or e-books (whether in Amazon or at real-life libraries) that indulge your size kink fantasies?
-
I’m playing around with the idea of living off one of my passions (writing size kink erotica).
Yes, trying to make a living off art is a bad idea. I will likely find myself pressured to churn out shrinking stories in the dozen to keep pace.
But I decided to give it a shot nonetheless.
So I thought a little market research (and quite a sloppy one at that, mind you ) would be a good start.
Have you ever bought Micro/Macro stories, regardless of their format? If so, what’s your gender? Do you think that the preconceived idea that erotica is more popular with women than men is grounded on some truth?
I personally focus on M/f or F/f stories. I like anything from fluffy romantic interactions with shrunken women to the more cruel BDSM side of things.
Compared to the much bigger and successful Giantess community, the Shrinking Woman department is rather lacking in comparison. So I might just make it my niche.
Question is whether or not the demand (and lack of offer, thereof) is high enough for people to consider purchasing entire erotic novels or kinky short stories anthologies on microphilia.
What are your thoughts?
-
@SizePrize69 absolutely! Tina Tempest has some great stories!
-
Yep, I have. M/f femgaze is my absolute favourite, bolus that shit right into my veins please.
-
@skysayl How different (to you) are malegaze vs femgaze stories? What do you like about femgaze that malegaze lacks?
Is is the enhanced fluff and psychological turn-ons or, on the contrary, the unhinged domination and BDSM that you find more enjoyable in femgaze?
-
@SizePrize69 Yes, I’m male and I have bought many books from authors within the community over the years, although if I’m being honest some of the absolute best SW stories I’ve read were free. I’ve even bought mainstream books not written by the community that include shrinking, like the “Meek” trilogy.
A few that comes to mind :
- “Just a Few Inches” by Tara St Pierre
- “The Promise” by C.E. Wilson
- “Spare Change” by Bonnie Huffington
- “How the Chips May Fall” by scidram
Highly recommend those books, btw. About male/fem gaze… it’s a relatively new luxury that we have more female authors and I’m here for it. I’ve read so many SW stories from the POV of giants to last me a lifetime, and discovering something written from the other side is so refreshing.
That doesn’t mean that I don’t find malegaze interesting, hell that’s probably all that I could write if I tried anyway, hehe.

@foreverlurk Same here. I have this malegaze POV on size fetishism but I would love to dig deeper into femgaze.
I somehow have this preconceived idea that female writers tend to focus more on eliciting emotional responses and focus more on the build-up to sexual scenes. A nice combo of both sexual and emotional arousal, and I’m here for it! -

There’s some of that, sure, but it goes even beyond. Just like us, they had the fetish their whole live and spent a lot of time imagining things from a whole difference perspective. Sometimes tiny details they bring up will make me go “wtf I never thought of that!”. Lots of insights into their minds, related to fear, the loss of control, their world perception when tiny, sensory overloads and the dependence / domination by the giant.
Then again I don’t want to speak for all males, I know some who experience the fetish through the SW’s experience, in a more submissive way. There’s no right or wrong way to do it. Me, I seek a way to immerse myself into the fantasy. I prefer the focus to be on the shrunken woman almost exclusively, and narratively leave me enough space to sort of take over the experience and fill in the blanks with my mind about the giant.

Not saying that it can’t be discussed again - I’m all for discussion - just that it might be a good starting-off point. We’re lucky to have some insightful members on DD
Re: your original question
I’m a woman and far more often prefer to consume free content, but I have spent money before - on comics, namely. My recent purchase was on Angel’s Giantlands comic that she has been working on.As @foreverlurk has mentioned, a lot of excellent M/f content is very fortunately made free by authors/artists. I think because of a general lack of M/f content (even fewer if we’re focussing on female/femme-friendly content specifically), creators are happy to share out of solidarity with their fellow M/f fans. In saying that: I would also happily support by purchasing content, so long as it’s good quality, something I would enjoy and if it’s within my budget.

Don’t know if there are peer-reviewed studies, but there is a general consensus that women consume more literary erotica than men. People have supposedly gotten numbers from Amazon (maybe other platforms) which have also reflected majority-female consumers of erotic fiction, and it’s generally understood that FanFiction writers and readers are majority women. There are different reasons why, but it is mostly attributed to women wanting to create/consume content that better caters to them rather than most mainstream content (which takes us back to the male gaze/femgaze discussion).

Have have both kindle, audio and a few paper backs with size kink

I don’t think I have – there’s just so much good stuff available for free! I’ve borrowed some (mostly mainstream) size-themed books from libraries before, and I had some fairy tale books and comics with giants and tinies in them as a kid, but that’s about it.
-
@SizePrize69 I define femgaze as having women be the storytellers, rather than the women in the story being, well, a spectacle. I think it really is simple as that. A lot of giantess stories for example write the woman as more of an NPC. She had no life nor purpose prior to growing into a giantess, but now her singular purpose in life is to be big and sexy and flaunt it in your face.
I like the woman having agency, I like learning about who she is first and how the change she undergoes affects her life. I like when the giant man has a purpose as well, and I like knowing how he feels about the situation- especially if he’s the one causing it.
I like this complexity because when the naughty bits do come into play, knowing how they feel about one another sets the entire tone. A man handling his little lady with care and affection is an entirely different mood and presses totally different buttons than a man having his way with her because he’s horny and doesn’t care one bit for her safety (which, I’ll add, is also sexy but the point is the distinction matters!)

Confession, one of the things I loved doing as a kid when going to the library was search for “hidden” shrinking scenes in books or comics. I did get lucky a few times! Only had to be sneaky when there was actual G/t on the cover

Hear me out, what if he’s gentle and caring but he’s also incredibly horny? That’s the line I like to walk on, because lord knows my desires for a shrunken lady would be several orders of magnitude more than anything I’ve ever experienced with normal sized ones. Must keep self-control… or not.
-
@foreverlurk That’s an entirely different flavour on its own and I’m here for it.
