For vore fans: what's the appeal?
-
Full disclosure: I’m not into vore myself, but have always been curious as to why others enjoy it - as the consumed, the consumer and/or the watcher. And after lurking and taking in some content on this forum, it seems to be quite popular here. Sure enough, the curiosity was piqued.
I’ve used vore as part of character building and development, but in terms of my own pleasure I’m more inclined towards mouth play with some fearplay thrown in - that’s my limit though. But it’s not about me: is anyone kind enough to share what makes it appealing to you?
No judgement

I wasn’t really into vore of any kind until some RP partners sort of awakened it inside of me. I’m not into violence or gore so I’m not really personally into the idea of actual digestion or disintegration, but I do find the idea of swallowing someone in a sort of magical cartoony way where she’s safe and comfy in there to be fun.
I also was into general mouthplay and teasing about being able to gulp a little girl down. For me, soft vore just feels like the extension of the ridiculous intimacy that giant/tiny relationships provide. I like being my tiny’s whole world and having her literally inside me just literalizes the metaphor that I’m her home. Plus, I’m a big boy so I’ve seen that there is some crossover with women who are feeders/female fat admirers.
I know for some tinies, being small is a piece with being the ultimate sub and total giving yourself over to someone as a pet/slave/toy. Like the idea is that you are fully just something for the giant to use, so what could be more subservient and giving than literally becoming nutrients?

@miss-lillipants Vore is a subject near and dear to my
stomachballsheart, so I will likely respond with one of my trademark Walls O’ Text at a more convenient time. For now, I will say only that the essential element of vore that I find most compelling is that it is the extreme subordination of one person to the needs and desires (the appetites) of another in the most intimate manner imaginable. I must add that my fascination with vore extends to imagining myself as pred and, alternately, as prey. I enjoy both perspectives equally.

I too prefer Mouth play more then vore. There is something almost primal at forcing the little pretty between your lips. Their panicked reaction at what they think is coming. Then suckling and licking them into a orgasmic delirious state despite their original disinterest at such position or treatment.
Honestly, vore for vore shake doesn’t appeal. Reading some giant grabbed a bus of nurses or something just to munch them like a package of Oreos just isn’t my thing.
But there is a power dynamic of turning a living tiny person into food with what for the giant is the simplest of actions. One rending crushing motion. A wiggling form struggling and failing to resist just the titan’s swallowing strength.
Or as a show of power. Want only a few of the small group of tiny ladies you’ve captured. Watching one or two devoured would be a dramatic display of what can happen if the giant is disobeyed.
I, as most of my works show, would be a more of a want to be a collecting giant. Effort was used to get the targets grabbed by most of my towering male characters. To do all that just to swallow the results, just isn’t my jam. Some, maybe depending on the story. One or two to satiate the giant’s curiosity, sure. But mostly I’m a, “Look at all my pretties.” type of fantasy interest.

For me, it’s the power, fear, desperation, and horror. It’s all so lovely to me~.

For mouthplay, a lot of the time it’s just an extension of everything else involving lewding an SW; it’s dangerous to the SW, sure, but… everything is. A lot of standard SW sizes could (and do) die to a dick (or pussy), much less a hand, a foot, or… literally any body part. But putting them in your mouth gives you an extra level of control as you cut them off from the rest of the world , with the implicit threat of crushing teeth and that gaping void waiting for them in the back, all while your tongue can easily dominate them. Also, let’s be honest here: an actual SW would probably taste delicious.
Beyond that, though, the reasons extend into the reasons I like vore: TLDR,; power, like almost everything to do with this fetish but more so.
Eating something, as a cause of death, has… something extra to it. You don’t just kill them, you take from your prey, you become more as they come less. Honestly, predation is probably the most primitive, basic, primal power relationship that there is. I’ve always preferred predator to prey animals, the bigger and meaner the better, and looking back at it that interest was probably based in the same interests that lead me to SWs in the first place. Regardless of the actual realities (nature is complicated, gasp!) there’s something inside you that says the one eating another is bigger, stronger, superior to the one that is being eaten, and to devour your enemy is an ultimate form of victory over them. It still applies even if the vore isn’t physical, if you can syphon from them or something; the act, either literal or metaphorical, of taking is the biggest part for me.
On the less violent end, while I can’t really understand the SW perspective, the idea of being so much bigger than someone(s) that they can live inside you, vulnerable and helpless to your actions, conscious or automatic? That, perhaps literally, you are a world to them? That is hot.
Also, I’ve always been an eater since I was kid. Vore vibes with me on that level the same way super powers or monsters that involve eating do.

@i-am-insane Our ancestors have been eating each other for hundreds of millions of years. It’s the oldest form of domination on the planet.

For me I prefer soft vore/ mouth play, it is the most exciting part to taste and savor the sweetness, slightly sour, and salty flavors of a shrunken woman’s body. The thrill of being overwhelmed as she rides my tongue in naked extasy, her fear and humiliation in the non con side, her excited desire of being enveloped and used for my pleasure orally in the con/sub side. Being her world or worshipped is wonderful to her extreme submission. Hard vore on the other hand is fear or the delight of being consumed, act of consuming, her becoming a part of the other person in finality/snuff, death itself is that fear of the unknown, and fear does bring excitement, a thrill to the senses. My boundary is swallowing someone then being able to get them back to do it again. That’s my mercy when it comes to vore for me it doesn’t have to be final.

Oh that’s really interesting! The sub/dom/dehumanisation aspect of it is a pretty obvious point of pleasure, but I could never disassociate it from cannibalism and I think that is a big part of the non-appeal for me. But framing it as providing nutrients, or giving their entire selves to the pred, puts things into some perspective.
Thank you for the responses so far would love to hear some more SW/tiny takes.

I agree with Olo, it is a weirdly deep domination aspect. Getting eaten is even pre-human.
It is at the same time one of the most cruel and most intimate deaths. Being ground to shreds by giant teeth, drowning on an underground cave of acid. At the same time you’re literally inside the giant, and if he played with you in his mouth, he heard your screams and pleading before he decided to end you.
And I also have a huge mouth fetish to begin with, I love watching those ASMR videos of people eating. Especially oysters or things like that. I always imagine the giant smiling face at the top of the screen is actually looking down at a village of tiny, helpless people, or tiny people in oyster shells to slurp down, or tiny women tied to sushi rolls…

There’s another easy way to frame it: it’s not cannibalism because they aren’t the same species. Either the giant isn’t considered human (perhaps beyond it) or the tiny isn’t (because they’re below it). Even if you acknowledge that they’re sentient, even if you acknowledge they’re a person, they still aren’t human… because no human could that small, that pathetic, that helpless. They’re just… ants, crawling around the floor, little mice praying they don’t gain the attention of the cat, worthless vermin that dare to infest your house and steal your food.
Or from the other end: the giant may look like a human being, but no human could ever be that big, could never destroy so casually, effortless, move so quick for being so big, so they can’t be a human. They’re a giant, a monster. They’re a god, descended from the heavens to pass judgement. They’re a titan, risen from the earth and full of wraith. Etc, etc.

@i-am-insane Yea, I hadn’t thought of it much, but I think that’s how it works for me. I love vore. But cannibalism is super disgusting.
How do those two mix? I don’t even know. I guess it’s the size. A tiny person would just crunch or squish, there wouldn’t be much messy gnawing on bone. I usually don’t envision vore over 1ft in size, sometimes a bit more, where I can imagine the bones would just crack and split like if you ate quail. So vore never feels “nasty” to me and somehow, in my mind, is completely different from cannibalism.
-
For me it’s the feeling of being hugged from all around when in a giant god’s stomach, as vore is a fantasy fetish as I’m not into the fatal stuff.
-
I only really enjoy unwilling-prey “soft” vore (by that I mean that the prey is swallowed alive, no chewing. It doesn’t mean the prey survives the giant’s body.)
It’s one of my favorite things.
I love that it’s an inescapable act of total domination. The prey has no hope. I love mouth play because I love the moments when the tiny still wonders about escape, tries to plan a way to get out, before the giant expresses his complete superiority by triggering a swallowing reflex that’s as basic to him as breathing. That tension and release, the loss of hope, is the center of the fantasy for me.
I love that an entire human being is reduced from someone with a full internal life - hopes, dreams, opinions, money - to just a few calories. To something as insignificant as a spoonful of food.
I love that just the tongue is more powerful than any movement the tiny can make. I love that the esophagus is a tight, long passage that can not be climbed up again by the tiny. I love that the stomach can kill without the giant having to do anything at all - the giant can fall asleep, and his own body will take care of the rest.
It’s the ultimate example of the effortlessness that I love so much about giant domination. The hard part is catching the prey, because tinies can be wiley, but once that fist is around the little snack, their fate is sealed - and all the giant has to do is eat his lunch and wait to feel sated.
I can’t logically explain it in a way that would turn someone on who isn’t already into the fetish. It’s such an out-of-left field one that I understand why there are macrophiles out there who consider it a no-go. I’ve loved it since I was a kid. Trying to explain it to someone who’s not into it does feel a bit like trying to explain a foot fetish. (There’s one I do not have.)
It makes no sense, really, we’re all descendants of squirrel-like-mammals, we really should not be sexually excited by this when our distant ancestors actually had to worry about being swallowed by snakes, but it’s just an attraction I have. Maybe the human brain is just so overstuffed with an over-abundance of neurons that we’re all a little defective in some way.

This perfectly sums up the attraction of vore for me as well.
