So, I’m 5’9" (175 cm), which is average for an American male, above average globally, perhaps a bit below average locally (Pacific NW). None of the women in my life have been unusually short or tall. Regular readers will remember that for most of my size fetish “career” I’ve thought of myself as primarily a Shrunken Man, and I admit that women six-feet-tall and taller intrigue me, but never to the degree that it might alter my romantic ambitions. Similarly, atypically short women are fun to think about, but it’s not a primary draw.

A reason why I felt ashamed of my fetish is I feel that lots of people think that many girls only date tall guys and are judgmental towards guys height. I don’t care if a guy is shorter than me when it comes to dating. But this made me feel ashamed of my fetish because I feel if people found out, they would think I am taking the phrase, “I only date six feet tall guys.” to a whole other level.

As a guy who has repressed his M/f desires for similar reasons, I am quite sympathetic. M/f fans, female and male, can get a lot of shit for expressing their preferences. And heaven help you if you’re a shrunken woman who likes thinking about a giant man who eats you or crushes you or pisses on you. Jit and Seru created this as a safe space for these desires.

Your mind is an immense place, full of wonderful and terrible ideas, but you are more than any or all of your fantasies. Everyone has the right to fantasize about themselves at the size they prefer experiencing the situations they desire. If you’re at one end of the height spectrum and you want to switch, go for it! If you like your height relative to others and you want to be even more so, have at it! Go play!

How tall are you in real life, Alice?

@TakoAlice8 I’m 5’6" and I’m fascinated by extreme size differences, such as a giant being able to hold an entire building in his hands, so my fetish is pretty much based in fantasy. My partner is taller than me but I just wish that he was a lot larger. As in, a few hundred feet…

@TakoAlice8 Such an interesting thing to think about. I’m 5’2" so I’m ready pretty small irl - I don’t particularly want to actually be shorter, so the fantasy of being super tiny is very much just a fantasy for me. My husband meanwhile is 6’2", on the tall side. I do really love the height difference, I’ll admit. And although he doesn’t quite have the SW kink himself, he enjoys how much shorter I am too and is super supportive about my own kink, he finds it cute and fun.

But I have absolutely felt insecure before about our height difference. I suppose I do generally like tall guys because I like feeling small, but it’s never been a prerequisite for dating. The other men I’d been interested in previously were either average height or shorter. And yet I still ended up with a tall dude. We did the online dating thing and got to know each other really well before I met him in person, so I had no idea he was so tall when I was already very interested. But I still feel uncomfortable about accidentally fitting into the stereotype you were mentioning.

I’ve actually told a couple of friends about my interests, and I usually feel compelled at some to say something like “I promise I didn’t just fall for my husband because he’s tall!!” Even though when I say that, the thought never seems to have crossed their mind and no one’s ever gotten judgy… Maybe sometimes we really just overthink things. But you are definitely not alone!

As someone who is around 5’8” I was always considered the tall one out of my friends. I was in the 4th grade when someone first asked me what the weather was like up here 😭
I’ve gotten more comfortable and confident with my height now that I’m older but I think I’ll always be a little envious of petite women. They’re just so cute and in my opinion give off a more delicate and feminine vibe vs my tall, dominating one.
I also have somewhat of a deep voice so that definitely doesn’t help 😂
However I’m not really sure if my height has contributed to my macro fetish. It’s possible but I’ve wanted to be tiny from a very young age so it’s hard to tell.
I just want to look up at things, all kinds of things! I’d love to see the world from even a slightly shorter perspective

I was always a taller kid and even in elementary school I liked to princess carry girls around in my arms at recess because it made me feel strangely powerful. I’m 6’2" and i do have a preference for shorter girls in general but since the actual size of women I like is you know, one foot tall, it’s not that big of a deal. As a fat guy I have also definitely found a correlation between girls who are into giants and girls who are feeders/female fat admirers/chubby chasers who like to feel tiny IRL next to a man.

Travel can add different perspectives. If you want to feel short, visit the Netherlands, the country with the world’s tallest average height. If you want to feel tall, visit Indonesia or Peru.

I often wonder how @Jitensha is doing in Japan, which is shorter than average.

@Olo That’s a good point. It’s funny though, from my time in Japan I still felt like everyone was tall, even though I’m sure that on average they weren’t taller by as much… it can be kinda hard to tell from down here lol. I guess when you’re above or below a certain height you get a little stuck on that side 😅

@littlest-lily I visited Hungary once with a couple of other Americans (both taller than me). Hungarians are shorter than average, but where we really stood out was in our weight. One of our hosts gave us a ride in their car, and I was afraid it was going to bottom out.

@Olo I am 5’4” which is considered average height in the U.S.

It doesn’t seem too have any correlation to my fetish, I just found I really like feeling small.

Though I was tall when I was a child, I think that may be correlated to my liking of being tiny.

                      Just chillin down here.

Also I only feel comfortable with being tiny.

@TakoAlice8 Oh he doesn’t actually have the kink! That would be an insane coincidence. He’s just really supportive and gets into it for my sake (which I know I’m still very very lucky to have that). It can be kinda fun to get a normie’s take on sizey stuff though, it’s helped with my writing and stuff too!

I honesty don’t think height is a factor. I noticed my interest very young. I always wanted to be bigger. Often using my action figures to play giant by myself. I was than the average size of kids my age in my neighborhood. I think I just liked the idea of being tall and powerful. That interest morphed into shrunken women in my early twenties or so.

I’m about average height for a man in the USA, not sure what prompted my fetish though. (Tinker Bell? Probably Tinker Bell.) I like the aesthetic of it a lot just as a cute wholesome adventure kind of thing. It’s able to turn something small like a park into a whole world of forests and leaves and nature, while for a regular sized person it’s just a modest park.
While not directly related to height, I do think there is some correlation between another measurement and people’s interest in minis or giants, but it could just be a fluke from the couple people I’ve spoken to before.

Whew, my experience with height was a bit of a rollercoaster!

When I was a little kid I vividly remember telling everyone I was going to grow up to be over 6 feet tall like it was some kind of competition? Like most kids I was excited to see how much I was growing and I still have the closet doorway that we marked my height on for my entire adolescence. (Some of those growth spurts were excrutiating.)

Of course female socialization kicked in and around puberty I started hating my height. I had horrific posture (so many dysphorias), and would regularly try scrunching myself down to 5’8" no matter what it took. At 20 I reached 5’9", and ugh it was awful.

Fast forward 10 years and one transition later and now I get height dysphoria going the other way LOL. Thankfully men come in all shapes and sizes, and working with the public I’m reminded every day that I’m average for my country, and above average for most everywhere else. I’m diligently working on my posture, and combined with some relaxing/thickening joint and soft tissue from testosterone, I’m actually closer to 5’10" now. Even my shoe size has gone up and I’ve outgrown all my old clothes. If I had a process kink I’d be in heaven lol.

In hindsight, I think the interest in size disparities was the prior to everything else. When I was trying to be a woman, I wanted to fit the size kinked ideal of small. Now that I know I’m not, it would be nice to be taller (but it doesn’t bother me nearly as much because I’m just happier in so many other ways).

As for correlation, I don’t think there is any. Kinks have much, much more to do with formative experiences that hit in just the right way at just the right time,; I’ll bet what was on the TV when we were 6 or 7 is far more relevant than how tall we are at high school graduation.
