Whew, my experience with height was a bit of a rollercoaster!

When I was a little kid I vividly remember telling everyone I was going to grow up to be over 6 feet tall like it was some kind of competition? Like most kids I was excited to see how much I was growing and I still have the closet doorway that we marked my height on for my entire adolescence. (Some of those growth spurts were excrutiating.)

Of course female socialization kicked in and around puberty I started hating my height. I had horrific posture (so many dysphorias), and would regularly try scrunching myself down to 5’8" no matter what it took. At 20 I reached 5’9", and ugh it was awful.

Fast forward 10 years and one transition later and now I get height dysphoria going the other way LOL. Thankfully men come in all shapes and sizes, and working with the public I’m reminded every day that I’m average for my country, and above average for most everywhere else. I’m diligently working on my posture, and combined with some relaxing/thickening joint and soft tissue from testosterone, I’m actually closer to 5’10" now. Even my shoe size has gone up and I’ve outgrown all my old clothes. If I had a process kink I’d be in heaven lol.

In hindsight, I think the interest in size disparities was the prior to everything else. When I was trying to be a woman, I wanted to fit the size kinked ideal of small. Now that I know I’m not, it would be nice to be taller (but it doesn’t bother me nearly as much because I’m just happier in so many other ways).

As for correlation, I don’t think there is any. Kinks have much, much more to do with formative experiences that hit in just the right way at just the right time,; I’ll bet what was on the TV when we were 6 or 7 is far more relevant than how tall we are at high school graduation.

Things this thread has taught me lots of shorter ladies here than I thought I’m taller than average around the 6’2 mark but I have poor posture so my height varies on how straight I hold myself between like 6 foot and 6 4 on average. As for height I like shorter girls but then again I’ve not meet many women that can look me in the eye but I find it’s more personality I’ve met plenty of 5 foot 2 women that have gone and got ladders the short three step style ones to slap me upside the head. Plus if you find a caring and understanding partner then you keep them if they have a size kink even better as to how you find out from what I’ve seen just ask them what they find sexy or erotic and be honest with them and above all else none of us are freaks or weirdo’s. unless you want to be then fly that flag proudly you fucken awesome creature you are.

@Kisupure Now since I think about it, I agree that you are right about it being more related to past experiences.

Although my fetish is correlated to some of my past memories, it mainly just kind of came to me. I have always liked the idea of being small or with someone much larger than me. I have never liked being big. To me, it’s like a second sexual orientation (I apologize if it’s inappropriate to compare size preferences to sexual orientations)

I just made this topic because I have read articles and watched videos of people saying that macrophilia is very common amount men. I know that for adults, men usually grow taller than women by a few inches, so I thought it could be correlated to that.
Maybe in reality, it is equally common among men and women. But for some reason there are mainly reports on men having the fetish outside of the size community.

I do kind of get height dysphoria too, although I am average height, for some reason it makes me feel uncomfortable when I am with a bunch of people shorter than me, as if I am an alien height. So I sometimes slouch, I try not do it but it makes me feel more at ease. My height dysphoria could relate to my fetish.

          Just chillin down here.

Also I only feel comfortable with being tiny.

Men seem to be more vocal about their fetishes, especially online, so it perpetuates the idea that only men have macro/microphilia (which is why there’s 50 billion articles about the “giantess fetish,” which ignores the fact that women and gay men also exist). When I first discovered the size community, I was convinced that I was the only woman who liked size stuff, but luckily, that’s not the case and I’m glad to see all kinds of size communities thriving. I’m hoping that eventually we’ll see more articles about macro/microphilia which focus on more than just giantess fantasies.

I’ve always been shorter than average growing up and even now (not by much, but around 5’2") I’m still shorter/smaller than a lot of my peers. But I think my fascination with size was just the intimacy I always perceived between giants and tinies. The pure escapism of it all to be out of place in the world and navigate it with someone else.

I do mostly identify as a tiny, but I do like being ‘giant’ in my fantasies sometimes too. And that all links to the state my life is in. When I feel like I have to be in tight control of my life, I like to imagine myself as a tiny and at the whim of someone else/under their protection. Or fighting against the order of someone else.

When I feel out of control, I like to imagine myself giant. So very much has to do with the power dynamics inherent in it all and wielding it or relinquishing it.

I’ve never personally felt height dysphoria despite sometimes wanting to feel bigger or had much preference to the height of partners I date, but that may also be related to be being on the smaller side.

@TakoAlice8 It’s an interesting thing, but I think @Nyx is right in that men are just overrepresented in cultural discussions and research about sex. One of the godfathers of research into fetishes even framed his whole theory about it in a way that completely erased women by stating that that “odd-hitting” experience in childhood makes men paraphilic, while it supposedly makes women “frigid”! I don’t think he’s taken seriously at all anymore, but if that’s where we started, we haven’t strayed far.

@Kisupure “Frigid,” as if that was the end of the story.

@Nyx Yeah, I thought that I was the only woman in the world into sizey stuff too. Thank goodness I am not the only one.

If I’m being honest I hadn’t seen too many women into size diff either (except maybe 7/8 ft men max) but recently I’ve started to see a lottt more being vocal which is great. Might just be a bias of actually trying to see more content from the community though. It seems like maybe there’s some odd beef between the different subgenres of size sometimes though, especially directed towards fans of tiny women? Dunno… just weird comments I’ve seen posted here and there.

Personal interactions have always been good with other size kinksters though. People not in the community seem to misunderstand it as some sort of ageplay thing though (how 7 inch tall adult women qualify for that I have no clue).

Some (extremely vocal) male F/m fans think they invented size fantasy and enjoy gatekeeping, treating any other preference or perspective as an intrusive minority. Fans of shrunken women are, according to these shitheads, “defying the main fantasy, which is giant women stepping on pathetic little men.”

I didn’t know people outside of the community thought it was some sort of age play.

Although, I did watch a video of a sexologist breaking down microphilia, and they compared it to pedophilia. I was honestly horrified when they made that comparison because it kind of criminalized the fetish. I wish they could of done more research between pedophilia and microphilia before comparing the two. Pedophilia is a serious topic that should be throughly researched before compared to other things.

As a person who has been in the size community for a while, I can confirm microphilia has absolutely nothing to due with pedophila. All micro enjoyers I have encountered post content with the micro being of age and having absolutely no resemblance to a child whatsoever.
I hope talking about pedophilia didn’t violate the guild lines.
                            But for all you microphiles…

Please know your that your fetish is not a crime in anyway and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. Keep being you and love yourself 🙂

I’ve seen the pedo comparison made before too and it really sucks.

And it’s as asinine as saying furries or people who like girls in cat ears are all secretly animal fuckers. Smh.

So I’m like 5’4, which is little bit taller than average in my country (women tend to be small). Because of this I always felt big among other girls and I still do even if I’m aware of other taller women than me. However, nowadays I wish I could be taller because I find it exciting to look at short men from above, but at the same time, I wish to be tiny for a giant man to take me as his… So yeah, it’s weird sometimes.
