Huh. Meanwhile, my SWs (and whatever I’m picturing myself as) tend to change depending on what i’m picturing.

Sometimes she’s just a random woman, sure, running from monster/thugs, but other times she has a lot development: sometimes she’s running from her warmonger mother, who wants her to follow in her path, but all she wants to do is art, so she wants a protector (among other layers of mess, because even in my fantasies it gets complicated), sometimes she sort of low-key owns me, because she’s super rich and she’s the only way I can even have a bed my scale, and lately she’s a fellow prisoner and we used to be enemies and we’ve teamed up for our mutual benefit…

I imagined that as the skies turned dark the giants awoke, sort of like in the tales and childrens books I had read of forest trolls my (then) whole life.

I love Scandinavian folk tales with their big and tiny creatures.

Perhaps this is because I fixate on this particular dynamic, but I find a lot of myths and theism’s has tons of reputable giants or colossuses. I think it is fascinating that humans, no matter where, have long attributed certain phenomenon to be the work of giants, or that certain gods are giant, etc.

In Norse mythology or at least what little I know of our Swedish folklore is that giants had an important part in shaping or destroying land, there is one in particular (Jätten Vist) that chucked an island (Visingsö) into our second largest lake and other giants carried most large boulders into forests. Trolls and giants are also from my perspective used interchangeably a lot here, but this could very much be a thing that is sourced to famous artists who painted trolls a lot. But maybe giants are extra prevalent in Norse mythology 🤔

I’m really no expert but it was my impression they were. Not based on anything but empirical evidence.

Same way I’ve also noticed that Southeast Asia has a tradition of tiny people in their folklore, based on the various stories and television shows featuring them and what I’ve been told on the subject.

FIre giants, Ice giants, and depending on how you look at it the actual gods; Norse also have their creation myth with the land starting from a dead giant, Ymir. So… yeah, they have a good amount of it.

It’s been really interesting reading some of your responses on daydreaming and even hearing someone earlier mention about tulpas. Even aside from having DID (where many of our alters are tiny people, which you can imagine led to much confusion upon discovery), I’ve found myself fascinated with G/T fiction. Sometimes I find myself just enjoying curling up to a good G/T fiction story about a tiny person with a gentle giant, and kind of imagining myself as the tiny person with the gentle giant. Sometimes it just feels soothing and relaxing in and of itself.

I know for a while G/T fiction just sparked us getting new alters a lot, but within the past year it hasn’t, so it’s nice to just read it for a change. I know some of our alters not just imagine the scenarios but feel like they’ve lived through it, so they probably have a lot to say on that as well.

Hopefully this makes sense. Sorry if it sounds kind of confusing.

I… think I do? It’s the phrase ‘alters’ that’s throwing me a bit;, like, how furries have a custom character that’s ‘them’, but instead of fur it’s someone that’ really big or small?

@i-am-insane Alters are in reference to the DID condition they have - I learned a lot of about it from the YouTuber DissociaDID (https://youtu.be/ANcVfE7XeQ4?si=sl5q61b_CDkgsJse). Anthony Padilla also did a video about it and interviewed multiple systems https://youtu.be/ek7JK6pattE?si=tcp_VF-Xl3W5LCjH

(Apologies, I don’t mean to speak for you @macrodid ! Just figured I’d share the resources that helped me understand what you guys deal with)

If you’d like to support me and my work, please feel free to leave me a tip and I will be so grateful! https://ko-fi.com/littlestlily
