@AnnDViant in French we say “géant” (male) and “géante” (female), always have. Sadly, there’s no real single word for a shrunken (or tiny) woman, which again hurts visibility and searchability. The closest we have is “lilliputienne” (i.e. an inhabitant of Lilliput, used as an adjective), but it’s not seen very often.

There’s also not much size literature in French, in our folklore or popular culture. Charles Beaudelaire did write a poem called “La géante” in his seminal “Les fleurs du mal” :

La géante

Du temps que la Nature en sa verve puissante
Concevait chaque jour des enfants monstrueux,
J’eusse aimé vivre auprès d’une jeune géante,
Comme aux pieds d’une reine chat voluptueux.
J’eusse aimé voir son corps fleurir avec son âme

Call me old fashioned, but Shrink Rays all the way! Potions will do too, in a high fantasy setting.

I would also add natural/innate shrinking abilities. Either fully controlled, ie. they can change size at will without too much downside or cooldown. Or, the ability isn’t under the person’s control and they shrink either randomly(!) or under some external factors (emotions, getting wet/hot/cold, etc)

Love this! That’s why I feel I’d be such an annoying giant sometimes. I’d never get tired of this, like “now don’t move I need look at how small your are. okay now show me your tiny hands again” over and over and just gawking in raw admiration and having a heart attack.

@sirensinner Not open at all. Even as a child I knew something wasn’t quite ‘right’ with me, so I kept this under lock and key, even more so after puberty.

I did try to tell the women who shared my life, but I never could. Awkward, introverted & shy, so communication has never been my forte, let alone discussion about my secret fetish. I have lots of respect to people coming out to their partners.

I think as an older (in my 40s) dom male, it’s simply hard mode. Subby, tiny men offer this “power reversal” trope. Women wanting to be big or shrinking men is “empowering”. But someone like me? I’m “perpetuating harmful gender stereotypes” Only half-joking, because that’s what a lot of normies (and even people in this community) think of classic BDSM, so imagine their reactions to me wanting to shrink women down and use them for sexual gratification?!

I tried to tell my sister with whom I’m otherwise very close, but even then it was a disaster. She was clearly uncomfortable and changed the topic, after acting like this discussion never happened

I’m most certainly taking this to my grave.

They’ve always been equally important to me. Give me a good, long, multi-stage shrinking with different interactions at each height and I’m in heaven.

@littlest-lily On behalf of kind(ish) giants out there, I can assure you this goes both ways - I can’t get enough either. Yay for mutual fascination!

In the book he does shrink stuff for her, so that’s how she’s getting the tiny things her size. I wish she was in an actual dollhouse rather than one with plumbing and electricity but I understand it’s easier for them with the sets and all.

Oh no don’t feel bad about having strong feelings about it, not all of us are switchers and it’s okay. I’m the same and I feel extreme discomfort at the simple thought of being tiny, vulnerable and at the mercy of someone’s whims and desires. Nightmare fuel.

I’m not too much into growing to giant size either, as I’d rather not draw undue attention to myself (in fantasy or IRL, uh) and being a literal giant is the antithesis of that. Also, I love the shrinking process too much , so if I’m the natural huge one I miss that super important part.

There’s also something more personal about shrinking a woman down, it’s hard to explain but a giant could potentialy take any woman (they’re all small to him), but it’s not the same if I get to choose who I’m going to shrink, anticipating this moment where she’s dwindling in front of me, like…

Uh, got distracted here… where was I? Ah yes - it’s okay to like only one side of this fantasy!
