An appreciation for GIANTS

There’s a big emphasis on tiny or shrinking women amongst SW fans (understandably, given the S originally and still often stands for “shrunken”), but not much on giant or growing men. I like scenarios where the man is the subject of the extreme size difference or who experience the size change.

I’m such a fan of seeing a gorgeous giant of a man walking through a city, over buildings and crowds (or on top of, depending on the mood), taking over the attention and space of those beneath him. I want to see him easily hold things that, at human size, would be impossible to handle without assistance; maybe fumble a little as he works out how not to destroy it (or how best to). Enjoying the view of his enormous body, the vastness of a landscape of skin and muscle. Boys just cute you know???

Is he at his natural height or is he still growing? Is he fully clothed or totally nude? Is he gentle or is he a tyrant? An unwilling victim of some experiment or a curious god? Is it a one-on-one interaction or is it more like one-to-million? Is he self conscious or does he take pleasure in his (newfound) power? So many options.

I can go on, but I won’t. I know there’s plenty of content on sites like coiledfist, but…well, we don’t need to rehash those conversations about target audiences etc. Content creation takes time and effort, and it can get frustrating when the subject is a niche among niches. So I just want to thank you to anyone who creates or created giant men content along those lines. You and your work (s) are very much appreciated

@miss-lillipants You know, I’m more on the shrinking side of things that you mentioned, but I honestly love reading this kind of thing. It’s just so cool to hear someone passionately talk about what excites them, I feel like I get caught up in it get a sense of appreciation for it too! I’ve actually seen a lot of giant content on DeviantArt if you’re okay with the more SFW side of things~

I enjoy both shrinking and growth scenarios, but growth will always be my favorite. I agree with you on the emphasis on the man growing…I like imagining how he’ll interact with the world around him and how he’ll use his power (for good or for not-so-good purposes).

For a long time, I didn’t know where to post my giant work…I’ve posted some of my giant stories to Coiled Fist but I’m not sure how well M/f giant content would go over, and I don’t want to be banned from DeviantArt for posting naughty stuff.

I also want to thank anyone who’s created giant guy content, yourself included

@littlest-lily yes, DA has some great content for sure! Part of my problem (and it’s definitely a personal one) is that, on top of deleting my old account, I’ve been away for so long from DA that I’ve had to find (and re-find) creators of M/f content. So it can feel like a bit of an effort sometimes when time is already pretty limited. But patience is a virtue I suppose, and the related content feature on DA’s been great

@Nyx aw thanks! I think CF has a little less of a reticent relationship with M/f content these days, but I don’t blame your hesitancy. In saying that, I’m pretty sure that’s where I’ve read the majority of your content! Heehee

To be honest, a part of me is a little surprised that there’s not much in the way of growth/literal giant in M/f content (at least, it seems like it). But I think that’s probably part of a larger conversation around perspective, pleasure and a partner’s pleasure.

Fully agree! Good giant content is so, SO lovely - just staring in awe up at a giant - talking to them from the fifth floor balcony of apartment. It does feel much rarer to find.

I will say I recently found a story on AO3 called ‘The Beast Below’. Its a work in progress and its a giant who started at that size, so no growth but there’s some really nice mouth play in there.

@miss-lillipants I like to call myself a giant even if all my erotic scenarios are related to shrinkage. Since I was thrilled with media representations like Travels of Gulliver I’ve sometimes thought about how would if be if I was in that position and how would I take to be the center of everyone’s attention.

I’ve had fun with rampage scenarios involving myself, and I’ve noticed it’s something lots of the tiny folk enjoy a lot, but I don’t think I’d like to be involved in that in a modern scenario. Fantasy is always better, I’d be glad to be some kind of friendly giant ruling my own kingdom of tiniest.

@Technomage I’m not picky as to how, when and whether “giant” is used literally. If I was, I would be missing out on some pretty awesome stories and cornering myself further into a fussy little hole. I think back to what someone said to me years ago, that “it’s all relative”. I do find it interesting though, and a bit ironic, that a lot of guys much prefer the role of human amongst tinies. I said earlier that I think there’s a larger conversation around perspective, pleasure and a partner’s pleasure - if anyone is keen to share their thoughts, I’d love to hear them.

@miss-lillipants I’ve given some thought as to why shrunken women tend to be more popular than male giants in the M/f community, and as a disclaimer, I’m not trying to claim that these are the only reasons or that they apply to everyone.

Men tend to be more active in many online size communities, and for M/f scenarios, the object of their fantasy tends to be the tiny woman. This is why you tend to see more male giants in communities with more women, like DeviantArt/Tumblr, and in gay/bisexual communities like Coiled Fist. In those communities, the object of desire is the man.
For some people, there is overlap between the sizechange and BDSM communities. Women who are submissive may feel more comfortable in the tiny/shrinking role. I also see this in the giantess community…male subs often like to imagine the powerlessness of shrinking. I’m technically a switch, and for me, the powerlessness of shrinking is a turn-off. The only time that I imagine myself in the non-dominant role is with a man who gains power and grows larger.
I’ve seen it argued that there is more intimacy when it comes to shrinking and that the normal-sized person and the shrunken person can focus more on one another. In growth, the rest of the world is often involved (which I happen to like). This intimacy may be appealing to a lot of people.

@miss-lillipants I agree with everything @Nyx said. As someone who eventually determined they mostly prefer shrinking over growth, the intimacy is indeed the chief factor. For me it’s also psychological; I find it much more difficult to get inside the head of a true giant (or giantess) than that of a human encountering a tiny. When an author or artist succeeds in giving me the perspective of a true giant, it’s fascinating, but I almost always find myself in the role of awe-struck spectator.

When you mention “perspective, pleasure and a partner’s pleasure,” are you talking about role-playing, stories, images, or what? I know that in my stories I usually try to give some perspective into all parties to an encounter, which is (IMO) what makes it sexy.

@miss-lillipants Of course it’s all relative, I’d feel as turned on as a giant if I saw a normal sized girl roaming around, I’d have to grab her immediately and I’d have a good time. Even if I’ve done some rampage RP’s I wouldn’t be too keen to destroy buildings in real life, I’m also careful to not step on bugs IRL when I take a hike, so trying to not crush wildlife or pets would be kinda stressing. Aside from that I totally understand the appeal of growing, as @Nyx says, being a superior man amongst everyone should be extremely exciting to little women, for me I adore being considered more than a man, even a God, so I totally get you from the other side, but when I think about that kind of power scenario, it relates more to me as an action/fighting scenario, I’m really into kaijus and stuff like Ultraman, so it appeals more to my geeky side.

As a very tall man in Mexico I tend to draw everyone’s attention, usually when I’m approached the first subject I’m talked about is my height, so I can vaguely imagine how being a true giant is like. As an introvert I totally get what @Olo says about intimacy. Even if some stuff isn’t my favorite, as a fellow size nerd I think I have a good level of comprehension about why do you all like different stuff, and I think it’s marvelous to be that way, I usually find stuff I wouldn’t normally like having me turned on, so cheers on having giant men and tiny women in all kind of perspectives. ️

Oh I remember reading something like this, that’s a good point. I was wondering if that, on top of this, a lot of guys might feel uncomfortable because of how exposed a giant would be (or the though of being so public). But I could simply be projecting.

I meant for any medium, really. I’m someone who also takes pleasure in knowing that my partner is taking pleasure in something - it’s an enormous turn-on for me. So, even thought I would more likely engage a tiny woman’s perspective, I won’t necessarily think about or have just a single character’s narrations, thoughts or feelings in mind; I’d be thinking about what would be pleasurable for the giant, what turns him on, how he’s feeling in that moment as he holds a finger-sized woman in his hand. So I appreciate content that does the same or similar!

And I think that’s true for some people and to some extent for others, hence the post in the first place. In saying that, absolutely agree that it’s really lovely to learn and share our own preferences, kinks and thoughts with others with the same/similar interests
