The first time I saw that cover I was at the impressionable age of 13. I can still see the Waldenbooks where it happened.

As a teenager there was an old, battered copy at my local library, but I never worked out the courage to face the librarian checking out that book lol. I did check out some more mainstream books with shrinking, though.

Same, I hope to attend one day! If it was on the East Coast there are good chances I’d be there this year. Oh well.

I guess you’ve heard of my trauma with that episode. Holy hell, what were they thinking including that in a kid’s show. My young mind had not even thought about clothes NOT shrinking. Start of puberty + secret size kink == Lurk’s brain going nova.

No Boundary is so freaking cute. I don’t understand Mandarin, but I understand the language of size, and it’s sooooo well done. The fact that’s she’s a powerful demi-god shrunk to a few inches tall makes it even better. I want a tiny lady to fall asleep against my palms…

@skysayl I wouldn’t focus on the ASMR aspect too much - I know some people get the tingles and stuff from the way it’s recorded, or through specific trigger sounds, but in this case I think we’d focus more on what is being said, even if it’s not purely “ASMR” (I’m not even sure what it really means either).

Nice! I usually like my fairies smaller, but cool nevertheless.

I’m having nightmares about fixing feet and hands, I usually give that job to Stable Diffusion, using inpainting and a mix of trained LORAs, luck, and prayers. Mostly prayers. It’s really frustrating, but then again hands and feet ARE hard to draw, whether by a human or an AI.

@littlest-lily Can you imagine what (or who) put those 3D audio thoughts (literally) in my head, uh?

For a static recording, on the hardware side I think there are binaural microphones that allow you to record directly in 3D. Or, like @skysayl said, you can use manual panning to get the same effect but I guess there’s more work involved. My only experience is mixing music but that’s another ball game.

I’m doing research for a little project of mine on the software side of things, namely audio APIs, algorithms to simulate realistic spatial audio effects, room acoustics, sound source directivity, and HRTF functions. But that’s mostly about how to transform existing sounds to 3D in realtime for, say, a VR environment.

@crashman Sure, as long as you properly tag them as such. And, of course, everyone’s definition of “hardcore” is variable, but better to err on the side of caution.

@SmolChlo It was shown during the holidays on a segment for children, before an Astérix movie lol. Strange choice but late 80s and not as much concern for viewer’s safety back then.

I was really empathic towards the tinies but jealous of the Draags at the same time - I wanted a tiny Oom girl for myself hehe
