@Olo Wow this is an incredible artist you found there, Olo. My favourite art movements are without a doubt Romanticism and Impressionism, and he’s clearly influenced by those. Also reminded me of the classic fantasy/sci-f pulp covers. I couldn’t resist having a peek at his portfolio and there’s a surprising amount of size-related stuff in there. @Olo Stange, because there is a built-in microphone and spatial audio headphones. You don’t need anything on the audio side of things, everything is on the headset.

@Olo There are many different models, some only work as “playback device” with a PC being the real brain behind the rendering. The Meta Quest (1/2/3) has a standalone mode that allows you to just put the headset on and jump in.

I only own a Quest 2 but it’s very good for it’s price point, and can be used both in standalone and PC mode. I can’t really vouch for the other models, tho.

To further answer your question, some people like to use furry avatars, others like semi-human beasts, some like plain old humanoid avatars. Custom avi are a lot of work but I’ve seen incredibly talented people create stuff like dragonborns or almost actual dragons, giant snakes, etc. No limits really. I chose to get a plain looking avatar but I’m thinking of getting a good looking one commissioned at some point.

There are rooms which are purely for hanging out, chat, listen to music, watching videos/movies, etc. There are some worlds with fun little quests/puzzles and interactions. Outside of VRChat there are also other virtual worlds but none as popular right now. Also since VRC added avatar scaling (ie. shrinking/growing) it has become very easy to create sizey worlds with that in mind. They added stuff like collision so that we can hold tinies without them “falling” through giant hands or bodies. They added climbing too, so that tinies can “explore” giants. Oh and while the soundscape isn’t exploited to all its sizey potential IMHO, the spatial 3D audio is delightful… having a SW moving around my head from one shoulder to the other sent ASMR-like tingles to my brain

The only thing is that in VRC, the most advanced worlds (those with proper physics) require the use of a PC. The PC will use its GPU and CPU to render the world, basically streaming the info to your headset. Otherwise you can still access some sizey worlds in “standalone” / Quest mode (ie. with the headset alone), but it’s a bit more limited.

Alsoooo, I’ve heard it can be quite jarring at first to be picked up when tiny, hehe… I’ve literaly heard (‘squeeeee’) it, I mean

Duly noted. Although proper FOV and distance blur could really help you guys I think (again, not built with us in mind). It is probably easier from “our” (giant) side since… well, you’re just so tiny down there! No other tricks are required

@SmolChlo I can only offer my own POV, maybe that could be interesting to other giants as well. I’m really not the best at taking pictures in VR but I’m learning…

@SmolChlo I can’t talk from the SW’s perspective but from my side of things it’s almost like a dream come true, at least that’s very close to some things I imagined for years. Seeing it in VR is mind-blowing the first time, and still is honestly.

If you look at static pictures it probably won’t help you get a feel of how cool it can be, but I know you can also play on desktop in good old 2D to get a preview of what it looks like.

From the SW’s perspective, I can’t help you… I can’t stand being small, not even in VR. You could ask around? Ping @littlest-lily or @skysayl , which I had to pleasure to grab and hold a few times, hehe.

@littlest-lily Soo many good ideas. I might have done every one on the “wholesome” list in one way or another, with the added difficulty of her being unaware of the real reasons behind my sizey gestures, comments, or interests. I can only dream of indulging in the less innocent list one day (Step 1 is to get myself a partner lol)

@Giant-Gripper I have to say I’m incredibly jealous. Such a nice thing for her to do, I don’t know if your partner enjoys the kink too, but regardless it’s so very sweet of her to indulge you like this. When I’m with someone smol (to me, so 5’2 and under) I can’t resist doing that lol. Lift/grab then squeeze, hearing the air leaving her (and the cute protests afterwards). “Stop it, put me down!”, then me proceeding to leave her on top of the fridge. Simple pleasures, yeah.
