Huh. That makes me wonder what it is for the big in unaware phantasies; doing bad things without feeling guilty about it, then?

RE: Let Me Get This Straight
I mean, this is the giant problem in a nutshell. The world isn’t made for giants, and you can either accept being a second class citizen, or change things to fit you better, if you can.

@nephilim
They’re fundamentally linked, in my mind: you can’t really have a size story that doesn’t at least consider the dynamics, and that dynamic is something I focus on a lot; what a character can do to another, what a character can allow the other(s) to do… -

@Mrgoblinging7
Yeah, I’ve read that, though it’s been awhile; it’s a sequel series, and called the Liveship Traders, if you believe the internet. Part of the reason I brought this up is living ships are common enough, but the idea of ‘ships as equals’ aren’t often explored to the full extent, with how much control a ship could have over it’s occupants, which is very size-y to me.Hmm. Well, this all seemed more accepted than I thought. Does anyone know how some GTS fetish artists draw dragons? As giant women, but with claws, fangs, and scale bikinis? I’ve always thought about flipping that them with a dragon guy instead, and then applying some classic stuff with princesses or female knights or whatever with them.

RE: I wish there was a term for exclusively male giants
@TakoAlice8 said in I wish there was a term for exclusively male giants:
About using the word “giant” to exclusively refer to males of size. What would people use to describe people of size outside of the traditional gender binary? Xgiant or something like that?
I mean, giant, in itself, is a gender neutral term, it just means ‘big’. It’d make more sense to pick a male exculsive term… problem is how the english language works. There’s not really a good thing for the niche of ‘neutral’ because ‘giant’ is neutral, and for a male version, what? Hisiant?
I suppose you can just to ‘giant man’, but it feels awkward.

RE: How about a barbecue scene?
There was an old, old VSW story called Viagra Effect. It wasn’t the best written, but the idea was they tested Viagra, it made men grow, and women shrink because of the men’s sperm. They all got tossed into a company town to hide this from the world where the men used the women at will and the women just were used to it, and literally gossiped about who was using them and whatnot, and then at the last minute the author had a couple from outside both try it and join the town as a GT/GTS couple.
No idea where’d I’d find it, but this makes me want to reread that.

RE: Unwilling stuff
I mean, that’s absolutely a fetish in a general sense. I might even say it’s common, even, considering what I know about female erotic stories and the like. I’ve found an almost certainly female author making stories about women cheerfully getting mind fucked into someone just as powerless to resist their owners as a shrunken women is, and a sort of shared universe literally called ‘Human Domestication Guide’, where the main characters are made into obedient pets by invading, well meaning aliens, so… yeah.
If you’re into it, willing, and consenting, then it’s not ‘unwilling’ in the meaningful, rape-y sense, which is rather the point where that gets awkward, morally. Hell if it’s just a story or a fantasy, then there’s no one real at all to be concerned about, and RPs aren’t real (unless you’re actually shrinking?
) so even if a ‘giant’ ‘steps on you’ you’re not actually getting stepped on by a giant foot, so… what’s the harm?
Honestly, I’ve always found it more concerning the other way around, since then you’re actually doing the wrong thing. The same logic applies there, of course, but I’ve always had problems emotionally accepting the logic about my own desires, so it’s not like I don’t get what you’re talking about.

RE: Yandere giants
Beyond that, though… I’ve noticed that GTS stuff has, for lack word… depth to them?
I think it’s the sheer amount of content kinda of forcing evolution in the artists, but once you get past the most basic, low level ‘i kill stuff cause funny’ stuff, there’s a lot of GTS stuff where they have a lot better, like, interactions, gradual dehumanization of tinies and the like (which is almost always men sadly) than GT stuff (which, to be fair, is probably in part because there’s not a lot of GT stuff, and art especially, beyond a simple picture or concept), and it feels like they’re often more… integrated in a setting than a GT is. This, the yandere vibe? That’s one of those; a little work would probably find dozens of ‘giant women obsesses over man’, or ‘woman shrinks man she obsesses over’ things, but it’s never really the reverse?
There’s so many interactions and scenarios I’ve seen that I’ve found interesting, and I would just like if it wasn’t happening to a man every time.
I just crave to use those vibes, but turned towards SW/GT ends.

Oh, it’s somewhere on the site if you want to read what I have so far I guess, but I haven’t updated it in… a year? More? I’ve just had a lot of stuff going on and I’m always down on my own stuff, so the longer I do nothing with it the more I feel discouraged to work on it. -
RE: Which series should have had SW?
I know Minimizer had an X-Files story; Scully got shorter and Fox got younger. It was one of those wish situations where the change never stopped.

RE: Does g/t make love triangles better?
@littlest-lily
Yeah, if you look at it as a tool for romance stories, the main pairing is usually pre-established, even if it doesn’t happen until the end, so there’s no real drama when X character is torn between character Y and Z, because the summery spells out it was always going to be Z. It especially doesn’t help if Z isn’t that good of a character for whatever reason, and Y, who is much more sympathetic, seems to be written in only to be used a tool to fuel Z’s relationship. -
RE: Ugly Giants
@Olo
It’s what frustrates me about that movie when I think about it; hell, it bugged me when I first watched it, though I didn’t understand why: they set up the narrative of ‘an ogre is a scary monster’ for the entire movie run off of, and then do nothing to make that make sense, even though they acted like it was a thing. If they had gone for a different take, and made it so ogres were misunderstood or something, it would have worked with the Shriek we got, but it seems to be saying ogres are scary monsters, but Shriek is a lazy bum so it doesn’t matter?It’s sort of doing both at once and neither, so the point kind of gets lost beyond ‘Shriek isn’t bad’.

@SmolChlo
Me? Scary? Never! Why, I’ve never scared anyone in my life, I’ll have you know!Oh, I’ve startled my far share, of course, but it’s not my fault; I"m just a lot lighter on my feet that people would expect of man my size, that’s all. There’s nothing wrong with that.
Is that what you’ve been telling your friends? That I’m scary? Slander! I insist you invite a few of them over, just so I can undo the damage you’ve done to my reputation! We’ll have a nice chat, some drinks, and then they’ll see there’s nothing scary about me at all.
…By the way, how do your friends feel about Chinese? It’s just- I’ve recently discovered Mongolian Chicken, and I love it, I really do. I’ve found that there’s a bit too many peppers in the restaurants nearby for my taste, though, so I found a recipe I’ve been wanting to try. I’m not a great cook, don’t get me wrong, but I have cooked a mean dish or two in my time, and it’s a pretty simple recipe, really; I’m not sure how I could mess it up! And from what I’ve seen, it’s not just good with chicken. In fact, it seems to go well with just about anything!
Don’t worry. I’m sure your friends will love it.
