For SW logic, I sum up the science with a famous quote…

I reject your reality and substitute my own.

@littlest-lily I also think about those portable washing machines or countertop dishwashers that hook up directly to the sink. Probably not a great idea for the toilet, but a shower? Again, may be more trouble than it’s worth.

@i-am-insane Surface tension of water is easily breakable though, it gathers water together but doesn’t affect the flow. Like lookit this ant goooo! https://youtube.com/shorts/wNJSQwYp2y0?si=Q-m69FgO7TuwPZSv

But I agree that food feels like it would be more of a challenge. I started working on a micro story and tried to brainstorm some food options at the time. Things like chicken broth and pudding and applesauce yuuunmmm 😅

@blehb Ohh I like how you think though! There could be something there. I imagine tinies would mostly take baths but a shower would be so nice.

@giantmaneddie I can accept magic, shrink rays, mythological creatures, giant mechs, etc. but I demand an explanation about these very mundane details!

@littlest-lily Get one of those bubbling foot spas and make yourself a nice hot tub. Until someone decides to soak their feet in it too.

Also, if you love the crafting/clothing/creative side of size content, you might enjoy this video as much as I did. I follow this girl on youtube so I was super excited when she posted a Borrower clothing tutorial. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gGsRsOoLPyU

That’s the thing though: an ant can. Could a woman of equal size do that?

No, seriously; creatures that small are built around being that small, and insects are famously much stronger proportionally than a human is. Could a woman and her hands match an ant’s mandibles?

                    Power is choice.

@i-am-insane I’ve had tinies survive falls that, proportionately, would have killed full-sized people. Not that they knew they were going to survive…

I mean, narrative convenience is one thing, but what about on the realism end. Or, ‘realism’, anyways?

@i-am-insane Right, narrative convenience is often a factor, but once you decide how the universe works you have to be consistent throughout the story. That’s “realism.”

I do believe it is scientifically possible for a tiny to leap a tall height and be ok and intact.

@Olo You have to be under a foot tall to join. Not under a foot.

Yeah, according to gravity falling three feet is falling three feet, no matter how big or small you are. So tinies should actually be okay with proportionally big falls (but since their biology would have to be different on some level, I know I certainly take liberties with this - I like the danger aspect from the perceived greater heights).

And as far as I understand it, surface tension is super fragile, a person should be able to literally stick their head in if they wanted. If the drop of water were bigger than they are, there is some risk in them getting trapped in there I suppose, but even then the simple fact that they go in would break the surface tension enough that it might just crumble.

Dontcha love all the science talk over something that’s not scientifically possible hahaha. I’ve had so many conversations with my partner over this stuff since he’s more the science expert than I am - it’s fun! (But has also led to him telling me that he wouldn’t be worried if I was small and fell off a table. Rude. lol)

Well. Now I need to work it into a story somewhere that a tiny keeps getting thrown around, but is always fine, so she loses all fear of heights and/or gets super traumatized.
