@littlest-lily Despite what others might think, Diego’s too kind a nurse to be chaotic. 😉

Ian is True Neutral which is… actually really fitting.

@i-am-insane I think there might be a touch of chaotic evil there. I mean he has three other girls after all~

I mean, amusing naming coincidence aside… hmm. I’d say you’re right, but the phrasing makes it sound like he’d be giving away SWs, which isn’t really in his wheelhouse.

I think it’s more a mix of chaotic neutral and lawful evil when it comes to other Mins, especially with where the story was going.

@i-am-insane I do think some of his unpredictability in what he’ll do next and the way he change moods on a dime makes him a bit chaotic too (even if I’m straying from what listed on the grid now). Yeah the more I’ve been thinking about it, the more I feel like a character would likely have a little bit of this tendency, a bit more of that one, etc. Still fun to think about!

@Olo for the record, despite my tastes being lawful and chaotic evil. If in a real-world situation, I would probably act neutral/chaotic good, chaotic neutral when I’m feeling playful.

As long as it’s kept to fantasy, I try not to judge preferences like “all-men-shrink-because-reasons.” I’ve explored the opposite concept myself (which turned out to be some of my darkest stories).

I understand why this certain trope is loved by size writers. It works really well if you are only attracted to macros of a certain gender. I heavily agree that this trope should only be kept in a fantasy setting in it’s own universe and shouldn’t be used to try to sexualize real people. Other than that I have nothing against people who like this trope.

My personal thoughts on this type of trope is that it is a little difficult to tackle where trans people are put in this trope, but I am very glad the post that started this thread included trans people. Then again, I don’t write, I just read, so I could be wrong about how hard it is to implement trans people in this trope. Then again, I did read a fic with a similar trope and I questioned about where do trans people come in, I just made head cannons to fill in the plot hole.

The “thing only shrinks one gender” trope can be a bit exclusive to some readers which is why I don’t always like this trope. It can be hard for a reader who Identifies as a female tiny to insert themselves into a world where thing only shrinks men and the opposite is also true. But there is nothing wrong with directing your stories at only one demographic. It’s much appreciated however when a story includes all types of audiences. I get it can be a bit of a stretch to include all people but it is impressive when a story is able to do all of that.

I haven’t read all of it, but I enjoyed your story, “Dreams of Distant Spheres.” which has a beautiful sounding title. What’s I really love is that the shrunken people consist of not just women, but I also like how there are nulls. It’s great for people who identify as male and want to insert themselves as nulls. It’s a win win scenario.

Since there are a lot of “all men shrink because reasons” stories. It would really be great if we had those stories but for women and other gender identities to even out things. Other genders should have stories about some thing only shrinking them if men have plenty of these types of stories.

So those are my thoughts overall. I really just wanted to comment on this trope since other people were commenting on it.

I may be a miniaturette with a size that is small, but my will is bigger than you all.
I have a blue sky now btw. Also only feel comfortable with being tiny.

In the past I have railed against the “all men and only men shrink” scenario because I (perhaps uncharitably) suspected insecure straight shrunken men of adding an unnecessary and illogical constraint just to avoid any possibility of encountering a giant cock. I become even more uncharitable when all the women instantly adapt to the new world order and have identically dehumanizing attitudes toward all shrunken men. It’s the lazy writing in service of a too-transparent thirst that offends me.

I have since become less strident on this issue and allowed that there can be multiple reasons for scenarios like this and that different writers can put their own unique spin on it. I still insist on there being some explanation for this phenomenon other than “it fuels my fetish.”

The trans issue is delicate. I recall @Taedis saying that they wanted to attempt an “all men shrink including transmen” story. I don’t think I’m equal to writing a story in this vein, and if I did I would probably be obnoxious enough to have some trans people grouped with their identified gender and some grouped with their birth-assigned gender.
