That’s the thing though: an ant can. Could a woman of equal size do that?

No, seriously; creatures that small are built around being that small, and insects are famously much stronger proportionally than a human is. Could a woman and her hands match an ant’s mandibles?

        Power is choice.

@i-am-insane I’ve had tinies survive falls that, proportionately, would have killed full-sized people. Not that they knew they were going to survive…

I mean, narrative convenience is one thing, but what about on the realism end. Or, ‘realism’, anyways?

@i-am-insane Right, narrative convenience is often a factor, but once you decide how the universe works you have to be consistent throughout the story. That’s “realism.”

I do believe it is scientifically possible for a tiny to leap a tall height and be ok and intact.

@Olo You have to be under a foot tall to join. Not under a foot.

Yeah, according to gravity falling three feet is falling three feet, no matter how big or small you are. So tinies should actually be okay with proportionally big falls (but since their biology would have to be different on some level, I know I certainly take liberties with this - I like the danger aspect from the perceived greater heights).

And as far as I understand it, surface tension is super fragile, a person should be able to literally stick their head in if they wanted. If the drop of water were bigger than they are, there is some risk in them getting trapped in there I suppose, but even then the simple fact that they go in would break the surface tension enough that it might just crumble.

Dontcha love all the science talk over something that’s not scientifically possible hahaha. I’ve had so many conversations with my partner over this stuff since he’s more the science expert than I am - it’s fun! (But has also led to him telling me that he wouldn’t be worried if I was small and fell off a table. Rude. lol)

Well. Now I need to work it into a story somewhere that a tiny keeps getting thrown around, but is always fine, so she loses all fear of heights and/or gets super traumatized.

@i-am-insane YES. Do it! That’s such a good point, because it would definitely still look super high to her. Who knows what the psychological effects would be

I’ve been on a bit of a micro kick lately, so applying that logic ot a micro? It must be like getting dropped from a plane without a parachute.

I’m conflicted on if its more interesting to have an adrenaline junky be addicted to be tossed around like a toy, or a woman panic every time she gets accidently blown of the table, even if she comes out of it fine every time. Or considering micros… both!

@i-am-insane Yeah, she could start out terrified, but then when she realizes how quickly she falls and how she’s okay at the bottom, maybe she starts getting more and more addicted to it. Like, she’s powerless in so many ways, but being able to survive what feels like an incredible height makes her feel just a little bit powerful?

(sorry @blehb for getting so off topic haha)

@i-am-insane She becomes so brave she gets her own little drone to fly around in.
