This behaviour sounds adjacent to the Halo effect, which associates traits like being fat means you’re lazy, being tall means you’re powerful, being beautiful means you’re a good person.

Consequences of that unconscious tendency? There’s the height wage gap, where tall people make more money on average. There’s the beauty card that let you get away with almost everything. That sort of things might explain why some people prefer to have a taller mate (and, consequently, offspring).

Of course I can’t find it right now, but I’ve seen ancient art from Japan depicting tiny women. There’s mention of giant and tiny people in myths all over the world. Impossible to think we’re the first generation in history to have this fantasy, although we’re probably the first able to discuss it openly with others through the internet.

I did a bratty SW edit of B.J. from Dr Shrinker. Five minutes of pouting, shouting, and being bold despite the fact that she’s six inches tall.

Say what you want about that show, it was refreshing to see a SW acting like this for a change (not that I don’t like damsels in distress, but variety is the spice of SW)

It’s for the better, trust me. Not that painful, but not pleasant either. It feels stretched and I would compare it to the lingering sensation that can last a few minutes after cumming hard, sometimes.

Thanks, Lily. That’s exactly what I think. This sizey longing can be (bitter)sweet too, and even be enjoyable, and I’ve lived with it just fine for a long while.

Right now it has been tainted by depression, and exacerbates my feeling of loneliness. I was curious if others have had those feelings as well, to some extent.

Oh I love that idea, it’s just too easy to tie shrinking purely with negative emotions - in a negative light - all the time!

If only I wasn’t struggling with anxiety myself. I think I mentioned before that even from a young age, this fantasy always had a calming effect on me. There’s something about, like @Nyx said, a SW’s “softness and delicateness and quietness” that work just like benzos sometimes.

Having a giant to protect and comfort you also helps with those feelings as well.

And I like to think it can go both ways - not for protection, of course, but a tiny could also help a giant find his inner strength/confidence, and overcome his fears. Which I realize might go against the common trope of an all-powerful, almost infallible giant!

Just something I found, I guess most of you have seen this classic scif-fi comic from 1968 (no we don’t talk about the 2017 movie ) but someone uploaded a really high quality scan of the first album of the series, La Cité des eaux mouvantes, on Archive.org, which features a very nice SW sequence. Basically this mad scientist wants to test his shrinking device on Laureline (and keep her hostage so that Valérian won’t try any heroics):

Really nice… and did I mention the shrinking is PERMANENT? Sadly, the process is interrupted before it can be completed , so not only it’s now possible for her to revert back to normal(boo!), and instead of ending up two inches, she’s about 8 inches tall:

So, I know this isn’t r/relationship_advice but I figured since you brought the subject, there would be no harm in asking.

There’s this er, friend of mine who would be VERY interested in meeting a “Tiny” as you say. Well, I’m still not sure if your country’s tinies are normal-sized or not (this got confusing quickly!) but we do have Minus-virus-victims here (it’s no conspiracy!), and this “friend” has a huge crush on a lady who got the virus last year. He’s been helping her as her “designated giant” (or Big, if you will) to cope with the aftermath of her change in size, but beyond that the two have been getting to know each other with time.

He liked her even before she got small, but now it’s bordering on an obsession. He dreams about her and gets ridiculously nervous when he’s with her (I know, WTF, a Big nervous in front of a Tiny?!) and he doesn’t quite know how to make a move without scaring her? What if she doesn’t want a relationship with a Big? What if she thinks he’s a weirdo for even considering it? Also, can a Tiny even consent, truly, freely, in spite of the crazy power imbalance? Although all things considered, she does hold quite a lot of power over him, whether she knows it or not.

So, how would you suggest I… he approaches the situation, what’s the best course of action?
