Seriously I’m sure I’m not the only one here who would be eternaly grateful, like you so elegantly said there’s enough GTS content to last a few lifetimes already… can we please have some SW audio/ASMR too?!

It doesn’t even need to be super elaborate. Like in what I posted, I know the delivery isn’t perfect and the scenario sounds cliche but I think she nailed the part where she switches from bratty entitled princess to vulnerable SW after realising she might have to remain that size. Her desire to be kept safe, it’s simple and efficient - works for me!

@blehb Oh yeah, I’ve done some narrating for friends’ stuff before. I can’t say I know what qualifies a recording as ASMR, I guess its just nice sounds and soft voices? I’d be down to try if I had a good script to work off of.

@skysayl I don’t really listen to a lot of ASMR myself so I don’t know the specifics. I always thought it was people like crinkling paper and whispering or something but it seems like thats changed a lot?

@skysayl I wouldn’t focus on the ASMR aspect too much - I know some people get the tingles and stuff from the way it’s recorded, or through specific trigger sounds, but in this case I think we’d focus more on what is being said, even if it’s not purely “ASMR” (I’m not even sure what it really means either).

@littlest-lily That would be crazy… I really don’t want to sound like I’m pressuring you or anything (I know you’re super busy!), I’m just excited at the thought that this could potentially come to life from a silly plea of mine for more SW audio content.

@foreverlurk ASMR has mutated into many different things since it started over ten years ago, and one of those mutations is elaborate and creative roleplaying. That’s what I think we should be aiming for: a gratifying narrative that is performed by a single voice. Tingles and “triggers” are distractions from what should be a theatrical monologue.

@Olo Yeah, I’ve seen the word “audio stories” which is perhaps more accurate here. Although I guess that could maybe also refer to something told in the 3rd person, like an actual audiobook, as opposed to more of a roleplaying type thing.

That’s something I’ve thought of before too… I actually tried to record the “ASMR” script I mentioned before and hated the process so much that I gave up on it - combination of hating to hear my own words in my own voice and feeling so awkward about “acting”. But I’ve also wondered if telling a story, perhaps still from first person but without the same level of “acting” to the microphone, might be an alternative.

@skysayl Yeah exactly! I was imagining it might still be more RP-ish if it was told in first and second person, but otherwise this is sorta what I was imagining.

But that was just me thinking it might be easier to record for me personally. If I write a script for ya I could do whatever! The one I’ve written before was very much an “acting” style one, not an audiobook style one. I would just give you that script, but I ended up giving it to another friend to record so that it didn’t go to waste… (who is a guy, meaning I switched out the genders, I’m guessing folks here wouldn’t be interested in SM ASMR so I haven’t shared it haha)
