@foreverlurk said in Language barrier: Even the terms used for descriptions in English might change as the understanding grows (ie. “giant captor” --> “giant savior”) I think the trickiest part of it all would be trying not to give away too much of what you’re thinking or feeling. Getting it just right and making those small changes like in your example can definitely add to the experience. Managing to get a tiny’s trust would probably feel so nice. My Sindarin is a bit rusty but during the solar eclipse last week, at totality my daughter turned to me and said “mornië alantië!” which made me tear up a bit (and a very proud father lol) LOL. That’s hilarious and adorable!

@SmolChlo said: Are they blending up human remains and feeding them to Dee?! The struggle of having a Giant crave you in more than one way Well, my thought about that was [REDACTED] I like my giants and tinies to have a multisensory experience @Olo said: Freaky and enticingly open-ended. The shock-collar mechsuits were clever, fiendishly introduced after the physical side effects started taking their toll. Thanks! If work has taught me anything, it’s that internal retaliation is both petty and more likely to happen than one would think. Easy inspiration for the suits and their intent. I initially read “CIs” as “cis,” which is (pace Elon Musk) a perfectly cromulent way to refer to people whose bodies haven’t been transformed. I kept reading it as “cis” too, but it’s just a coincidence. I hope that in the end Dr. Too Little accepted the price she had to pay for witnessing such a miracle. She does, but she also doesn’t have much choice.

u/Fleaboard_Kingpin69 Replying to u/BurntProvider LOL dude you clearly need to divorce asap. Been in your position. Aside from the low chances of your wife recovering, there’s research that’s just come out that says that they can still pass on the virus through sex even if they’re no longer contagious - the mainstream media won’t tell you that. Let nature sort them out. Circle of life, survival of the fittest.

@tiny-ivy (I love and am super flattered for your own take on this!) u/PeevousGrievous Replying to u/CheckPlease First of all, I’m sorry that you contracted MINUS and I hope, for your sake, that it does not become a chronic condition for you. Thank goodness that your husband has been so supportive. As a fellow MINUS sufferer, first and foremost: try to rest and relax. Whether a short-term or long-term infection, there isn’t much you can do while you’re still sick - it really is much like the flu in that respect. If you’re feeling restless or can’t sleep, I recommend a free mobile game that’s just been released: Mi-Crow Cafe! It’s an adorable, “cosy” game about running a tiny cafe in a tree hollow for small animals. Each animal is a unique customer, with their own favourite foods, and as you build up a rapport with them, they tell you more about their lives. It’s also got amazing music, very Studio Ghibli-like. On top of that, it’s been recommended as a therapeutic game because the stories are actually based on the experiences of other MINUS sufferers. And I can confirm: it runs just fine on the tablet (I have the same one!)

@miss-lillipants (I love this so much. I absolutely adored the mild offense she had for the term “crush”. That made me laugh out loud. The rest is so sweet and realistic, too! Not a trash fire at all!)

@Olo Yup. All islands, everywhere, are basiclly abandoned, since they’re too small to be effectively protected for how rare giants are. Antarctica is basiclly gone, and the containment zones mean large parts of Asia, North America, and Africa are basiclly cordoned off as de facto sacrifices for the various Mid-Sizes. Stuff on the water’s edge is theoretically protected, but it’s very ‘on your head be it’ levels of risk for those who live there (the spring break parties are even wilder in such places than they are now, since most of the beach goers are to some extent adrenaline junkies); ship based trade has dropped substantially, because out in the ocean is filled with monsters, replace with more air freight and less need to in general because of more advanced technology. Compared to the current amount of people on land, it’s now closer to 2/3s or even a 1/2, I’d think.

@miss-lillipants (This is a beautiful idea. It’s so inspiring and I love the many types of tones possible from all the different subreddits that would exist. And how short the pieces can be. And split up across many days. Aaah! 🤯 )

@SmolChlo Ngl, it would be fascinating to watch someone not into size kink try to engage in it. Just watching them try to figure out what you find appealing about it. It might be attractive and definitely amusing to witness.

@wildxpixie Honestly, that sheer difference in power informs a lot of how a GT/sw dynamic works, and how, in anything close to a ‘fair’ relationship, the giant has to accommodate the sw, make allowances for her, respect her fragility and how delicate she is, that many things that aren’t a threat or obstacle to him may be serious problems for her, while the sw has to acclimate to the fact that they aren’t in control, in many ways. Sure, she may be in charge, or telling them what to do, or even manipulating him with pleasure until he’s weak in the knees, but the second he just… reaches over and picks her up all of that goes away; they don’t get to choose what happens to them, where they go, anything. It’s all the giant’s choice, and even the fact he’s not making that choice is, in fact, him choosing not to choose; he allows her that control, it’s not something she has herself. In reminds me about what people say about Superman vs Batman fights, that Superman has to not use all his natural advantages (like just blasting Batman from space or something) to even allow Batman to get to a situation where they fight at all, allowing him to even be able to have a chance to fight. That those big, dramatic fights are still Clack accommodating his strength against Bruce’s frail humanity.

Turns out the work of the wonderful SizeMaster was too good, and the AI that screens the sight thought it was a real person I was making a Bot of. I had to run the pick through an AI filter to make it work. Link to Bot - https://spicychat.ai/chat/7ba08fdb-e9ba-470e-bdd4-ff8bc9ff495f

@miss-lillipants I always wished I could find the stereotypical knight rescues princess story except the knight is giant. I love giant knights, especially when paired with a pretty princess.

@starslayer I think the best way I can answer this is describing my own experience being small… in VR! Because as much as I enjoy the idea of being tiny, I know that if it was real there would still be quite a bit of fear there - not sure how much you want to delve into that aspect in your story. However it’s obviously safe in VR, so I was free to really enjoy it. I definitely did a lot of looking around at how big everything was and explored, but what I was most excited about was meeting giants and fellow tinies. I felt a bit shy at first (and honestly a bit intimidated by the size difference), but once I got over that I kept having to remind myself that giants need personal space too, because it was just sooo exciting to be picked up and interacted with. So once I made friends I became more liberal about hugging fingers, climbing up in their lap or on their shoe, basically harrying them for attention
